Yes, yes, I know I should consider the source, but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about a supposed feud/rivalry/beef between A.J. and Carl? They mentioned it in passing on AM1000 this morning but I got to work before they delved into it.

They mentioned there was an small related flare-up between the two last night. Did I miss something, or are Mike and Mike just making up their own stories again?

There was an article about it in the Sun-Times today. Didnt mention a flare up last nite but did say some players were shocked to see Buehrle talking to Everett before the game(and were not thrilled about it)

Maybe I missed something, but why would Buehrle speaking to Everett be something that would upset his teammates? Yes, Everett made some questionable comments regarding the Sox last month, but I don't see how that would result in players snubbing Carl.

I don't mean to say the wrong thing here, but I'm starting to see the potential for a few problems here. It seems as though a few of the Sox players are acting as though winning a championship gives them the right to say and do whatever they want, and that's not the case. Everett was wrong to say what he said, but so was Frank, and that didn't stop several players from talking with him during the ST games against Oakland. Maybe I feel that way because the Sox are the first team that I've liked to actually win something. (I also like the New Jersey Devils, but I don't follow hockey as closely, so their winning multiple Stanley Cups doesn't have the same effect.)

Do I have a point, or I am just completely off base?

The article stated they were surprised because Buehrle said after everetts comments that "if he was such a leader , then why is he on so many teams". Honestly I think its just the media stirring things up like they love to do

I remember the comments that Mark made. Maybe the two of them were trying to reach some sort of resolution to their disagreement. Either way, I don't see what was so wrong about the two of them talking.

I dont either. The media is looking for some big story. Even A.J. said him and Everett are fine and it was no big deal. They went out and had beers after the Washington ceremony.

I haven't seen the article, yet, but I did see that Cowley was the person who wrote it. I'm waiting for someone to go after him for trying to stir up more **** with this team. Everybody complains about the Windsock, but I'm starting to think Cowley might be worse.

That said, I would like to see this team go a month without some sort controvesey surrounding it. Things like this aren't good for a team in the long run.

This was the first I heard of AJ and Carl, unless I missed it last year somehow. If it wasnt a big deal last year, why all of the sudden a big deal now. Imagine having and living with 25 brothers, do you honestly think you could go 8 months without a single arguement or fist fight? I dont think so

I've never understood KW's fascination with the guy. He's an average ballplayer. [Good hit + horrible defense = average]

Exactly. Stuff happens all the time, and most of it is kept in the clubhouse. Doesn't mean there's a problem. The only ones keeping it going are the media.

I was going into class, Silvy and Mac said they'd talk about it later in the day. They gave background info of AJ and Carl not liking each other, having some confrontations in the clubhouse, and something about Buerhle also being involved. So I was also wondering about this, did something happen in the game last night I missed?

When asked about their conversation Monday, Buehrle smiled and chose not to continue the war of words. "It ain't worth my time," Buehrle said.

Consider the media's attempts at stirring the pot a positive sign. It means the Sox have attained a level of significance beyond the Core of the Core fanbase.

The media doesn't stir things up with teams like the Royals or the Indians. They stir things up with teams like the Yankees and the Red Sox.

It may be annoying at times, but in the big picture, media attention = larger fanbase = larger payroll = sustained competitiveness.

The most significant part of Cowley's story (which isn't saying much) is that his former Sox teammates' nickname for Everett is "Truth-osaurus."

Part of Everett's controversial comments was that A.J. would be the leader on the '06 White Sox. So much for the media.

As for Buerlhe, he has a reputation for being a trash talker anyway. No big deal.

Exactly, every day in the Sun Times he has some kind of "he said/he said" BS troublemaker story. Just like when he was at the Southtown
