Attention White Sox Army-

Monopoly is creating a new Here and Now updated version of Monopoly with locations for each city voted on by the people. The options for Chicago are Michigan Ave., Navy Pier, and Wrigley Field. Right now Wrigley Field has 67% of the vote. I say we chose one of the other two and all vote for it.

I hate Wrigley as much as the next guy, but come on, you don't think it should be on Chicago-opoly.

I hate Wrigley as much as the next guy, but come on, you don't think it should be on Chicago-opoly.It's not Chicago-opoly, it's going to be an all new modern board and one of those 3 options represents Chicago. The board locations will also be determined by total votes for a city, so right now Wrigley will be replacing North Carolina Avenue and is creeping up on Park Place.

They are also replacing the railroads with airlines. O'Hare and LAX are two of them. The currency is also being increased. $500 will proably be pocket change in this new version...

Is Wrigleyville Mediterranean Avenue or Baltic Avenue?

With all the drunk frat boys, public urination and date rape that goes on there, they better have several of these spaces:

The game's updated Here and Now edition, which is due out this fall, will replace Atlantic City landmarks with legendary streets, neighborhoods and national monuments.

Until May 12, fans can vote on www.monopoly.com (http://www.monopoly.com) for their favorite landmarks from 22 cities including New York's Times Square, Chicago's Wrigley Field, Honolulu's Waikiki Beach, Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive and San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.

EDIT - Whoops missed the other thread - please merge

Unfortunately Wrigley is running away with the voting.

And what's with Cleveland? Jacobs Field but no R'n'R Hall of Fame?? :?:

They have almost every type of opoly out there now - what's one more?

Nobody really cares about any of the lame versions. It's original or nothing.

Yuck, I just saw this and was about to start a thread. I gave Navy Pier a vote, anything but Wrigley.

I voted for Michigan Avenue in keeping with the theme of the original game. Navy Pier is about as aesthetically appealing as the new Soldier Field, and I couldn't bring myself to vote for Wrigley.

I'm surprised they didn't offer State Street, the Art Institute, the MSI, the Hancock Center or Sears Tower as choices.:?:, then again, what do we Chicagoans know?

I play my Star Wars 3D version more than the original. I haven't played my World Series Edition yet.

Come to think of it, I don't think I own the original except on my computer...

Pssh, they didn't do their homework, I emailed them to complain at http://hasbro.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/hasbro.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php?p_sid=1LA2-R5i&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfc m93X2NudD04MTYmcF9wcm9kcz0mcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N 2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfc GFnZT0x

And, when I played when I was younger, I also played the spin off versions (MLB Baseball) more often, but looks as if this will replace the original, so if kids still play board games, it's what they'll be introduced to

Okay, so why won't it let me vote? I keep getting this blue screen that says Flash v7 is installed, but that's all that happens.

Anybody?

Edit: Whatever was wrong is apparently fixed. I just went voted.

If anyone is a member of a Cardinals board, you should probably tell the Cards fans about it because I don't think they'll be happy to see Wrigley Field on the new Monopoly board either.

The Baseball Mecca still has 67%. I'm sorry Sox fans, but it doesn't look like the army alone can stop this.

I have a feeling that this flash website is all BS. It was 67% when they started and it will be 67% when they finish. They are just trying to give an illusion of voting. I've noticed all the numbers for the other cities are still the same from yesterday as well.

Yea, it seems pretty buster. I looked at Seattle and they have "Pioneer Square" as one of the choices, but the picture is of the space needle, which is not even in the Pioneer Square part of town.

Wasn't Monopoly made by Parker Brothers?

Apparently, Parker Brothers was bought out by Hasbro in 1991. Hasbro still has a line of Parker Brothers games and has a history of Monopoly (http://www.hasbro.com/monopoly/pl/page.history/dn/default.cfm) on its Web site.

If you've spent much time watching commercials in SoCal or Arizona, you might be interested in kn owning injury-accident attorney Larry H. Parker (of "Larry H. Parker got me $1.3 million" fame) is the great-great-grandson of one of the Parker who started the game company in 1883 at the age of 16.
