So I looked on the Promo schedule and there is no Rat Pack night. I know I looked in Jan but that was before it was official. I cant believe they got rid of it. That was my favorite day by far. I LOVE THE RAT PACK! Instead we keep Mullet night...CLASSY!!!! Oh and we have pink hat giveaway day in July but no Rat Pack night. When was the last time you seen any sport teams uniforms in Pink?

Sorry for being ignorant here..but what exactly did rat pack night entail?

Ohh and I'm going to regurgitate something the post game show on 670 brought up.

"You want the players to cut their hair, but you still have mullet night?"

Great point if you ask me.

I don't mind the pink and think it's a great thing for the team and marketing. Our mostly black colors are not really the most appealing thing to a lot of the women I've talked to, and even non-Sox fans like my wife wear the pink gear gladly. If it appeals to a broader base of women and can get the Sox name out there more I'm all for it.

ohhh...when is pink night. Although I already have 3 pink hats it would still be fun.

Also, not to sound stupid  but did they get rid of fuji photo day?

Au contraire! Check out any group of young women dressed to go out and I'll bet most will be wearing something black. It's almost part of a night-out uniform, and it's been that way for years. I would think Sox colors should be in vogue.

Rat Pack was fireworks night to the music of Frank Dean and Sammy etc. Then they had a guy singing Frank. AWESOME! Kind of like Elvis night without the people dressing up.

I agree with the Score.

If that is the case then I am 110% for it as I am a big giver to breast cancer charities or cancer in general. Pink hat day is July 8th. It is sponsored by Walgreens.

Yeah but there's a pretty big difference in wearing a black Sox jacket like mine and dressy black "going out" pants. I've heard women say "the colors just look so mean and depressing" many times and the different colored items now allow those folks to represent their team and the Sox logo. I like everything how it is with the black, but think this was a great move. Plus my wife looks really hot in her pink and blue Sox skull cap. :D:

Dont you go to the game to support your team not a fashion run way show. I mean if you want to wear a pink hat or shirt that is on the person not me. i personally would not wear it. It is cute though for little babies and little girls. All the Sox stuff I got is normal black white and gray. In fact I scored an awesome coat at Grandstands yesterday which is all black with white and gray stripes down the sleeves. I like showing my Sox colors.

OH BTW if anyone read the red coat post and saw a link to a gray green and pink jersey...I saw it on Sunday. I almost dropped my pop. I could not believe someone bought that thing.

Jenn, please don't put words in my mouth, especially with the whole "not a fashion run way show" statement. I never said anything even close to that and made it very clear that I like the black for myself but feel that it's great for the team and marketing to get the Sox name out there to as many people as possible.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread so this is the last thing I'll say on the subject. With many people, especially kids, having just one favorite (hat, shirt, etc.) from a young age can create a lifetime fan. Even some kid who knows nothing about baseball or the Soxwill identify with the team because their dad or mom gave them some goofy hat they loved and wore forever. Back to your regularly scheduled thread. Sorry again for the pseudo hijack. Go Sox.

I loved Rat Pack Night. One of my favorite movies is the original "Ocean's Eleven". If you haven't seen it, it is much cooler than the Clooney remake. It was a bunch of friends who said, "hey, we are here in Vegas, let's make a movie!" Their music is timeless. The Sinatra impersonator was incredible. He didn't look like Frank, but he could belt out his songs.

I like Elvis Night, Rat Pack Night, etc myself. They are each one night out of the season, so for people who don't like them it's not like you have to deal with them constantly. Let the people who enjoy them enjoy them.

By the way, just saw the Elvis impersonator Rick Saucedo this past Fri and I have to say that guy is incredible. Sounds a hell of a lot like Elvis and can move like him pretty well too. :D:

I love the theme nights--I am bummed there's no more Rat Pack night or Motown night. I had fun at the Beatles day last year too. I hope to see more added on the calendar as the summer goes on, do they do that?

I would never, ever wear the pink sox stuff. I don't know why I dislike it so--I'm wearing a fleece shirt right now in the same color. And I know a lot of fans like it. For whatever reason it just annoys me.

I wish they'd bring back Croatian Night. I'm craving some live tamburitza music. Here's (http://www.folkstreams.net/pub/quickstream2.php?title=40) a streaming film about The Popovich Brothers of South Chicago (http://www.folkstreams.net/filmfacts,40) from my old neighborhood. Boy does this bring back the memories.

I sxtill think a woman can't go wrong with basic black. Take a V-neck, short-sleeve top, put a subtle Sox logo to the front and PIERZYNSKI and a big 12 on the back, add a strand of white pearls and that would look downright elegant, don't you think?

Mullet night is crap, I can't believe they have it again, it's almost like a Flub fan is working in the front office and is trying to poke fun at that stupid generalization

No one will like everything, but I would have liked to see Rat Pack Night stay. I'm young and I know that music is golden. I've never been to one but I was planning to going to one in the future. Unless they can't get an impersonator, they can't just add it on to a fireworks night?

I wish they would've brought back rat pack nite again. Yeah I agree, they keep mullet nite but the guys have to cut their hair? What the **** is that?

Not really, Mullet Night is just a night of silly fun. Not that I care, but AJ, Crede, Cotts, and Freddy looked pretty awful day in and day out.

If you're taking "Mullet Night" that seriously, you're missing the point.

For that matter, check out any group of women, period. I was at a business meeting recently where all the participants were women--and all but one were wearing black. We were joking around, asking the one "loser" if she hadn't gotten the memo, when she raised the point, "How many of you have more black clothes than any other color in your closet?" We all pled guilty.

The fact is, black is neutral, is more figure-flattering, and pretty much goes with anything. Also, as a glorious redhead, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing pink anything. Or yellow.

I wear pink to support finding a cure. My family has been hit pretty hard by breast cancer, thankfully all have been survivors, but still.

If that is the case, I'll go just to get a pink hat AND wear it proudly.

I can get behind that. Even I'd sport a little pink for the cause, and it goes well with black. But perhaps I'll stick with a ribbon or an arm-band (that would be cool).
