How hard is it getting from Ogilvie station to The Cell. I normally drive there to The Cell but my friends want to drink on the train on the way down tonight. Whats the easiest way to get there. Any tips besides going to metrarail.com

Take the green line. Much less crowded, as the red line is a sardine can. The green line leaves you only 2 blocks east of the Red Line, and there are plenty of people out that way (IIT) parking their cars and directing traffic.

Ogilvy is two blocks from the Clinton Green line stop. Take the Green to IIT Bronzeville. It would be about 15 minutes.

Clinton and Lake Green Line stop, just a few blocks north of the station.

There was a similar thread recently where several people pointed out that Metra trains don't run too often at nights or on weekends. From Crystal Lake, it might be worth considering driving to the Cumberland Avenue exit on the Kennedy Expy, parking at the garage there and taking the Blue Line to the Loop, transferring to the Red Line downtown (they'll tell you when on the intercom). Worth thinking about if you're going to a night game especially. CTA runs on a much more frequent schedule.

Does anyone still call Ogilvie the North Western station?

The Green line is at Clinton and Lake.
Northwestern Station is at Madison and Clinton. Just a two block walk.

Me too. And the Thompson Center is still The State of Illinois Building, etc.

Maybe in some places, but in the vast majority of places I ride it, it's much nicer than, say, the Blue Line.

Anybody think walking 4 blocks west on Madison to Halsted and taking the Halsted bus to 35th is a good idea?

Taking the Green line is probably quicker.

Yes it is. I take the Green Line Clinton stop to all the games, and if I time it correctly, I'm at the park in my seat in less than 1/2 an hour.
Plus, clean, not crowded, safe.
