Tickets went on sale earlier this week... Anyone else get their's yet? I get paid today, so I finally have the $22 to pick up a ticket. Hey, it goes to White Sox Charities, and I now have a 1/100,000 to get the keepsake of a lifetime.

I got mine on Sunday. Considering the tax liability that comes with it, I'm not sure if I hope I win or not.

I got mine last week Friday at the game. The lady selling the tickets also had one around her neck so I got a nice picture of it!

I will probably buy one more tomorrow when I go.

I was just thinkin about the fun possibilities if you actually win the ring....

Kiss the Ring would take on a whole different meaning really...
I know of some co-workers I wouldn't mind imprinting the Sox logo on the ring upside their heads...

Anyone else got any other wonderful ideas for it?

As I told Jenn2080 and Mr Roboto there is no way I would EVER wear it to a game though.... Talk about a mobscene... I'd prolly be lucky to leave with my hand attached...

Two quick comments:

I heard the price of the ring was actually $7,500 and not the $20,000 that's been tossed around in the media.

Also, for those seeking to have someone else pick them up an entry at the park...You have to fill out your personal information and sign the raffle card.

High volume orders always get discounts.

If it appraises at 7,500, will cost you about 2,500 in taxes.(assuming medium to high tax bracket) Sounds like a deal to me!

What if I put the Ring in an IRA as an investment? I'm married so it would fit in the $8,000 dollar a year allowance! I know I wouldn't sell it until I was Stleast 56 1/2 years old!

I'm going to open up the Museum of Matt and charge for admission, a la Bart when he found the $1,000 bill.

I mean I guess I could sell it but that would be hard to do. And if the value of $20k is accurate I'd have to sell it. But if the value is only 7,500 I could swing the taxes on that.

Ok another question for all of you.... If you won it... Would you be tempted to list it on Ebay for a cool mil... I know I would... If someone was willing to pay that much for it I think I could part with it... That'd pay for 2 Scout Seats for like 30 years

Anyone with a cool mil would just hire a jeweler to make one for $10k.

do you think some big tax services firm (i.e. H & R Block) would pick up the tax bill as a publicity stunt? Are any of them Sox sponsers already? I know theyve done that for other notable prizes......or am I just dreamin?

No one would pay anywhere near a million bucks for the ring.
