Actually, Mr. Incredible is an appropriate nickname for Jim.

Every time I see Thome in the dugout with his hat off, I can't help but see this...

To me just looks like a large framed beast of a man that happens to be a "good old boy" from Peoria. :o:

I too was that way for a long time [though I didn't attend college until later in life -lol]

Watching Heavy Metal wasn't as enjoyable when Thome was a Cleveland Indian. Now that he's one of the Good Guys, I think I'll play it on the VCR this evening.

I haven't seen Jim interviewed yet, but are lips lips really out of sync almost looking like they belong to someone else when he talks?

I never noticed his lips looking out of sync... but if you've seen an interview with him... YOU KNOW what he says too much.

He kind of reminds me of that Cleveland Indian slugger who used to pound the White Six a few years back. :?:

I've pointed this out before, but he resembles that pic someone here has of a guy in an old Sox uni being squeezed by a bear. Looks a lot like him to me.

If you shave the beard & look at them from a distance he looks like Bagwell's mirror image on the left side. Same bone size, build, & height size I think.
Movie wise: The Terminator. I think they stand eye to eye.
In fact I can even imagine Thome in that role for T4.

Off topic but how bout this bunch for Thome's followers, and even a Thome's Homies Day.

I always thought he looked like a giant chicken when he played for Cleveland. But now that he's changed sides, I'm starting to see the Mr. Incredible resemblance more and more.... :D:

When I watch him step up to the plate I see something completely different.
It's as though I'm watching a newsreel from the 1930's.
It's difficult to explain, but his whole approach reminds me of how players took an at bat several generations ago. . .
