Pronounciation is just as important as spelling. Is it:
TOE-mee
or
TOE-may
or
TOME

I used to say Toe-may when he was on the Tribe, but the last 3 or 4 years I've been saying Toe-mee.

I'm almost positive that he calls himself Toe-mee, with the emphasis on the first syllable.

The correct way is TOE-mee, but TOE-may is used often enough that no one not named Thome will look at you funny. TOME is never used. I've never heard him called that.

Yeah, me too--can't help but pronounce the "TH" and take off the long "e" sound, for Jim "THOME"...of course, I like our 3rd baseman Joe Cruh-day and our 2nd baseman Tad Iga-chee also....
