Last year, the Sox went 14-5 against the Indians and some other pretty good record against the Royals. These two teams provided the Sox with a pretty substantial portion of their win totals. Who's number do you think the Sox will have this year, and why?

We've already seen tough series against Cleveland and KC, and I don't think it's going to be quite as easy this year. Cleveland is solid, so they're going to win some games. I think KC will fare better this year, not because they are much improved, but they can't do much worse than last year. Minnesota is usually a tough place to play for the Sox, so I'm going to say that Detroit is it this year. Starting with the clinch there last year, I feel Comerica is going to be pretty Sox-centric this year.

Thoughts?

After Jim Thome hits his league leading 34th dinger the game before the allstar break, Bud Selig will require that Thome, for the remainder of the season, dig in the batter's box with a churro instead of a bat.

"Hey, that's a good idea!"

Give me a strawberry churro, and I'll think of it...

I think it'll be the Tigers this year, simply because we've flat-out owned them, and I don't see it stopping now. They'll continue to succumb to the greateness of the Palehose!

Interesting that only one person out of 25 thinks the Sox will own the worst team in the league last year....damn that Mike Sweeney.

You can't expect too many people to say we'll "own" the Royals just after the Sox got their asses kicked by them. I think they will come around vs the Royals over the course of the season, though, and I think they'll also do well vs the Tigers. They always seem to have trouble with Minnesota, and not only do I think Cleveland is solid, but they clearly have the Sox in their sights this year, especially after their Sox-induced collapse last year. Some people call the AL Central the most improved in baseball. Won't get an argument from the Sox so far.

I voted for all of them, except the churros! No one owns the churros.

I think the Indians are going to be a very tough opponent for the Sox. Once the Sox get in their groove, I expect no problems with the Twins, Tigers, or Royals.

They're going to own the Twinkies for no particular reason.

If the schedule gods have the Sox avoiding Santana, a clean sweep of the Twins is very doable. That guy is friggin Kryptonite!!

Hopefully the Sox can match up against him and his 6+ ERA soon before he goes on his obligitory second-half "cy young catchup" routine....

I'll give you one reason. TONY freaking Batista. LOL. I thought Terry Ryan was joking when he signed him.

The Tigers and Royals. We can't OWN the Indians and Twins. The churros own us :D:
