As to anything any former player has to say, all I can say is:

Ah, Carl Everett. Always ready to speak his mind. But the question isn't what he's going to say. The question is if anyone cares.

I think he loved Chicago and wishes he was still here. Carl's never been good at expressing himself tactfully.

Carl Everett might be my nominee for greatest unsung hero from the 2005 team. He was given huge responsibility to fill the Big Hurt's role in the everyday line up. He didn't do the job perfectly, but he did it well enough to help the Sox win 99 games, especially during the first-half of the season. That's when the Sox earned the division crown.

I wish he would keep his mouth shut because I would love to see the guy come back for SoxFest and reunions after his playing days are over. Carl will always be a South Side hero for what he did in 2005 if he simply stops taking potshots at the organization.

I was disappointed when they let him go after 2003. He was the only clutch player we had down the stretch that year.

I could understand why they didn't bring him back this year with the acquisition of Thome. They could sure use some of his fire and attitude however. Ozzie may not have considered Carl a leader, but then again Ozzie used to call Jose Valentin "his leader" in 2004. LOL!

Carl didn't say anything that crossed over the line, and I wish him much success in Seattle. But now it's time for Carl, Ozzie, the Sox and the media to move on.

*yawn* Whatever. I figured Carl and Frank would get together for a whine-fest while they were both in Seattle, but apparently Carl isn't done crying to the media.

Ozzie has been keeping his mouth shut for the most part everytime someone rips the Sox. I get the feeling one of these days he's just going to explode on someone, even if it's just some small comment. Willie Harris would be wise not to say anything that can be construed as ripping the Sox. :o:

You think that would actually happen? He did his thing and helped us greatly, but in my mind he's no "Southside Hero." He knows he's a renta-player

Doesn't all this talk just mean they WANT to play for the Sox?

That's exactly what it means. If they didn't still want to be here, you'd never hear a word from them because they wouldn't care enough to say anything.

In an e-mailed response, Williams wrote: "In the particular case of Carl, I've traded for him twice and defended him and some of his actions to fans and media alike. Recently I expressed all these things and more to Carl face-to-face, man-to-man, and I'm disappointed the issue has resurfaced. This off-season I gave each of the clubs that called on him my highest recommendation. I wish he and his family well in Seattle and thank him for helping to bring a title to Chicago."

Well there you go... You CAN teach old dogs new tricks...

It's time to take your own advice.

But Frank's been awful quiet lately, both his mouth and his bat!

I also wish more ex-players could take the same attitude that Rowand did. Why is it so hard to take the high road? I mean, were these guys really so wronged that all this badmouthing is necessary?

They should be embarrassed acting like that. I know I would be.

"If I have any bitter feelings about anything it was how they treated me as far as contract-wise," said Everett

"If I have any bitter feelings about anything it was how they treated me as far as contract-wise," said Everett, who batted .251 last season with 23 home runs and 87 RBIs. "It was two seasons that I had pretty good seasons and they pretty much said, `Thank you, bye-bye.' If I'm bitter at anybody it's Kenny Williams and he knows it simply because how he handled 2003 and last year."

"As an opponent, that Chicago media they've been (jerks)," Everett said. "Now that I'm gone again, they've become a (jerk) again. As long as I was there they were cool but I'm gone now. They basically went around what I was saying. They tried to say I was bad-mouthing Paul Konerko and the team which is far from the truth. That's how it goes. I told them what they are going to do."

This was every quote in the Seattle paper that I found.

So he complained about his departure. That wasn't ripping anyone. It does get annoying that he wont drop it but I think the media is over using this story. The people he ripped the most was the Chicago media. I can't blame him for that.

95 percent of baseball fans don't know what Carl is saying.

From the article:

"Carl Everett, who criticized the White Sox's retooled roster last month, lashed out at Sox general manager Ken Williams and the Chicago media last week."

Yep, the Sox "retooled" by getting rid of their biggest tool. As clutch as he was at times last year, he won't be missed.

Why don't you find a quote, an actuall Carl Everett quote, that you think is "lashing out". Perhaps it is just me but I can't find one quote from this last "story" that is all that bad. Am I the only one?

Its alright, we'll have him back on the team in about 3 months
