I know it's the first few games of the season, and I'm certainly not freaking out....but what is with the Sox pitchers so far? Buehrle looked average at best in his 3 innings, Garcia looked HORRIBLE in his 5, and now Contreras is all over the map; including hitting Belliard with the bases loaded. 2-0 in the first.

Settle in already guys! The World series is over!!

Contreras is in the process of settling in now. Two is no big deal if he can hold them. He's had a lot of shaky first innings in the past and it hasn't hurt him.

Halladay gave up a couple of solo HRs, but still got a win.

I stand corrected, i used halladay by mistake, i have him in one of my leagues, the number of pitcher bashings outnumbered the gems

...I agree that our pitching has looked a bit shaky in the first 3 games. And I'll add on: other than Opening Night, I don't think our offense looks particularly strong yet either. I might have my numbers slightly off, but was that 9 runners stranded from the 7th to the 10th today?

No sense getting too gloomy after just 3 games, but it would appear that there will be no shock and awe coming out of the gates like there was in '05. I'm still hopeful that the guys will find their groove, but damn.

The inability to string together a couple of base hits in succession had me swearing at the TV like last October never happened.

Don't panic about Konerko. He hit .218 last April and saw his monthly average rise for the exception of one month (where it dropped to .300 from .315).

I must have missed "60 Minutes"!

Keep in mind many were saying that the Sox didn't need to be so concerned about the bullpen because the starters would basically be going 'seven or eight' every game.

:?:

Any time they wish to begin this situation is fine by me.

Add Carpenter, Lieber, Hudson, Kazmir, and Pettite to the list.

A 3 game series in KC is exactly what the White Sox need. Out of the major spotlight...no more ceremonies, no more videos of 2005, no more jets flying over. Just baseball in front of small crowds in KC (and then again in Detroit...other than their home opener Monday). They need to get grounded....and the starting pitchers get them into a rhythm.

Last year they were 2-1 at this point....so being 1-2 in no big deal.

Folks it is going to be a battle all season long with the Tribe. We will not dominate them like we did last year.

We need to get over the ring and trophy ceremony circus and start playing some ball.
