Lead story on tonight's Colbert Report has Steven Colbert talking about how much he enjoyed watching the White Sox last year, watching the Sox opener and rooting for a Sox repeat.

I saw the tail end of that (switched over to see if Frank was batting yet on the As game, switched back and he's in the middle of talking about the Sox).

I think we should set up a fund to get Stephen to come to a game.

Colbert gives us lots of respect. I understand he lived in Chicago at some point.
Regarding what he said tonight, I doubt even the Tribune could get "Garry Glitter getting arrested" and the White Sox in the same sentance. That takes skill.

I would like to see Stephen Colbert do one of his "interviews" with Ozzie Guillen.

Who would be putting on who? :o:

I love the Report. Colbert is a comic genius. Good to know he's a fan.

The first 5 minutes. Right after he comes back from his intro. It already showed on the 12:30 airing.

Damn....! I'm going to see if it's "on demand"

edit: who was the actor/actress in it (guest)?

The guest was some crackpot talk radio host.

It'll be on tomorrow at 7:30 Central as well.

Stephen lived in Chicago for quite some time. He's a Northwestern grad and then did Secod City for years. I don't think he's necessarily a Sox fan, but I know Paul Dinello (Strangers with Candy) who was on the show tonight is a HUGE fan. Maybe he did it for him.

I don't know if he's a big Sox fan, but I do think he likes them more than the Cubs, considering he's made several cracks at them.

I think he's just kinda an overall fan, with some respect for the Sox after living in the city. He talks about baseball a lot on the show, which is so dead-on at times, you almost forget that it's satire.

Calling Mike North a crackpot is an insult to crackpots.
