What a way to make his debut. 1-2, 2 BB, 2 RBI and one monster HR that gave the Sox control of the game.

Can't argue with that. There were a few options(Anderson, Dye), but that home run was MAJESTIC.

What an amazing debut in a Sox uni.

My only argument is with the photo. On my browser Thome's face is missing.
Lotta great games tonight, though. Uribe, Anderson, McCarthy...
Promising start.

that home run was ridiculous, just launched out of the box. paulie just missed two, right off the end of the bat.

Let the title defense begin.
RE: Jim Thome: WOW. I think that ball is still going. :mg:
I think it's going to be another fun season on the South Side.

Great story, too. First game with a new team, playing against his old team, giving the fans who stuck it out something to cheer for, and his HR turned out to be the gamewinner!

I just may pick Jim Thome every game this season.

He was my backup. Buehrle was my first choice. Do I get any credit for that because of the rain delay cutting Buerhle's outing short?

Gotta keep him out against the ultra-tough lefties...Like "%^*^*^ing Santana."

did anyone else notice that the ball went 431 feet and was his 431st of his career? weird!

I made the pick based solely on who I thought most people would have picked. The more correct picks, the more work for CLR.:bandance:
