Question Re: Tickets for Tuesday and Wednesday

Last week I was checking for ticket availability online and noticed Tuesday was sold out and Wednesday only had UD corners seats remaining.

Checking right now, and Tuesday shows there's still a ton of tickets remaining and Wednesday shows there's still great seats available in the lower level box right behind first base in section 114.

My question is, how does this happen? And how do you know for sure how many tix are available?

Couple things:
1. Unsold tickets held for potential st plans.
2. MLB dosent need them.
3. Sox dont need them.
4. Sponsors dont need them.
5. Leftovers from promotions(like the openeing week ticket opprotunity).
6. Throw off scalpers.

Okay, so here is my question then. I have tickets for Wednesday's game in the Upper Deck. Can I go to a ticket office and try to exchange my UD tickets for something in the Lower Deck. I know I would obviously have to pay more for the LD tickets, but would the exchange be possible?

I don't think so, because I inquired about upgrading tickets last year. I was told you couldn't do it. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try though.

You can try to exchange them the day of game, but get to the park early.
