Hey everyone, just a quick question. I know some of you have gotten spring training jerseys and have them customized at granstand. Is this a good idea? It is cheap? and can i get the world series patch sewn on? I was just wondering because i dont want to spend 200+dollars on a jersey. Thanks again, Cfad

Grandstand will do it for $60 or so. Slightly more than that, I think.

Or they can do it for slightly over $30, but it will look bad.

Grandstand is expensive, but very convenient, and as far as I can tell they do it the right way.

I haven't had any jerseys done at Grandstand, I took a few to Triple Threat Sports in Mokena. At TTS, they charge between 35 and 45 depending on the jersey. It says on their website that they charge 45 for the BP jersey (same price, same numbers as the black game jerseys). If you call them maybe they will knock a little off. It doesn't make sense that they charge the same to customize the BP as the black alts, seeing as the alternate jerseys have numbers on the front and names also.
Anyway, on their website it says the jersey is $95 with the lettering if you buy it from them. That sounds like a really good deal to me, I would go for it.

As for the patches, they will sew on any patch you want.

Why customize a spring training jersey? They don't have the names on the back. :?:

I would rather spend the extra $60 and get the real thing.

In case anyone is looking for another place, I've had great luck with the guys at City Sports Lettering in Oak Forest. They're right off of 159th on Oak Park Avenue. Their prices are very reasonable and everything I've taken them has turned out great.

They're lacking the diamond-sock logo, too, aren't they? But I suppose they can be sewed on as well.... Hmmm.
