According to mlb.com's front page, he left the game after the first pitch in the second inning with an elbow problem. Uh oh. Dark Clouds a brewin up in Canada...

Must be off the roids.

That's a damn shame, though. I so desperately want Toronto to win the Least so we can get our revenge from 93.

Stunner. Stop the presses!

As Burgh says, I hope that it isn't serious and he has a good year for Toronto .

I hope he's ok... I got a 10 game plan from the Jays thinking we might face them in the ALCS.... Playoff tix away at face!

I hope AJ is alright. I've always liked him as a pitcher.

Not that your teal remark is seriously implicating his steroid use, or even that my question implies he is a jerk -- honestly I don't think I've ever seen him pitch. But this thread raises the following question.

Is it proper etiquette to be unhappy when steroid-using overpaid jerks are injured?

I was merely making a joke on all the steroid talk in the past week, starring Barry, Bud, Turk Wendell, Sammy and friends. I don't wish injury upon anyone, ever. Well, except maybe Terrell Owens.

Burnett being injured suprises me about as much as Wood's injury.

Burnett being injured suprises me about as much as Wood's injury. Exactly. Once injury prone, always injury prone.

I appreciate that, although I'm blank on the Terrel Owens reference. I think, though, in cases where players have contributed to their own demise (much like MacBeth or Nixon) -- and have skated through life because they possess skills that apply to games people will pay to see -- don't deserve anyone's sympathy.

Barry Bonds will never have to work for a living, but would anyone be upset if he had to?

That's the first thing that came to mind. Both guys are so similar.

BJ Ryan still lives. He might even double his career saves in 2006.
