Looks like a strong possibility, My question is why now, this is easily something that could have been done October 27th.

Because the surgery could end his career. The surgery option sounds like an absolute last resort. Hermanson wants to try to pitch without the surgery through the epidural shots, but if those don't work and the surgery has to be done, it sounds like that could be the end of his career.

Let's hope the epidural shots will work out well and Hermy can pitch this year.

I've read a ton on his injury and I have never been able to find what EXACTLY is wrong with his back. Does he have a herniated disk, a bulging disk, a cracked disk, spondolothesis (sp?). All they say is back pain and back problem. What problem does he have?

It was reported last year that Hermanson had an inflamed disc. That's the only time I've ever heard or seen any report about what specifically is wrong with Hermanson's back.

Doesn't sound like much new info. Misleading subject line though. If someone can edit, it may stop others from skipping a heartbeat after reading it.
