We will be in Tempe on St. Pat's day, going down to Sox - cubs on Sat. Any recommedations for a good sports bar in Tempe - Mesa area?

Sluggo's - 161 N. Centennial Way, Mesa - mile south of ballpark

McDuffy's - 230 W. 5th St., Tempe - couple blocks west of ASU

McDuffy's on 5th and Ash in Tempe is the best sports bar in the Valley, IMO (BTW, an opinion shared by SI, per their article a while back on the best sports bars in America).

I second McDuffy's. (in fact I'll be there.) Every NCAA game that's on, awful green beer and off track betting on dog races. I think there is a cover, but you'll probably find that everywhere. Second choice - and the AZ folks will have to help me here - is Rula Bula? over on Mill. More of an Irish pub, with good music.

Stick with Mcduffy's. Sluggo's is a Cub bar in Mesa formally owned by Stone and Carey. Not that good either. I'll be on the Mcduffy's patio.
