Once I get off the Damen/Ashland exit, would I be better off:
1) Taking Damen to 35th, then cutting back to 31st at Racine
2) Just stay on 35th all the way to the Park
3) Just deal with the long line to get on to Ashland off 55 and then to 35th
4) Ashland to Archer then cut across, or
5) None of the above

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Damen is going to be my route this year.

I would think Damen to Archer to Halsted to 31st to Canal would be one of the best routes. It is probably goint to suck no matter which way you go.

I'm in the same situation as you. I am a new comer to Illinois (formerly Portage, IN) What would be the best way for me to get there from 55? I'm going to be so lost the first couple nights

You can get off on the Ashland ramp, then turn onto Wood before you actually hit Ashland. Take Wood to 35h (you pass/avoid Archer this way), which shouldn't be so crowded that far west. Once you hit Morgan or Halsted though, the traffic will tighten up. Also, if you take side streets near the park there are a LOT of cul-de-sacs around the neighborhood now. Don't go shooting down an empty looking street thinking you found a secret route because you'll probably end up doubling back. When Archer is fixed you could probably take Archer to Halsted, to 31st, to Wallace, to 33rd or 35th. It's gonna be a zoo either way.

If you are going to take Wood, you might want to try a simulation of this route Prior to the season.

I suspect that 35th St. will become a parking lot by the time you hit Racine. 31st St. might have less traffic.

Good luck! The best bet this year is to get to the neighborhood really early and stop for a beer or a snack.

I'll be coming from Dekalb for most of this season. Should I take 290? 55? I'd like to know the best route if that's at all possible.

and take 37th to the lots (they'll take your pass no matter what color it is)

I usually just get on the Damn Ryan and get off at 31st St. If it's really backed up you can keep going on I-55 and get off at 22nd and take that to State St., and then over to 31st.

I won't give up my secrets. Then there's more people taking the same ways I go.

Yeah, that's like how I won't give away my parking spot. If I did, then I wouldn't be able to park there anymore.

Take Ashland Exit. Right on Wood (before Ashland Ave.). Left on 33rd St. Right on Ashland. Then either:

Left on 35th. Left on Halsted. Right on 33rd and into lot G.

Or:

Left on Pershing. Left on Halsted. Right on 37th and into lots E or F (assuming they are not reserved for parking passes).

There's a new Target store at the Damen exit. That ramp is a nightmare most evenings. Bad choice.

Alternative route

California exit south (right).
The fourth stoplight down is Pershing, take a left.
Stay on Pershing and it'll bring you right there.

and take 37th to the lots (they'll take your pass no matter what color it is)Is that still true, though? We've never bought season parking but decided to this year, belatedly. My rep said all that was left were the lots south of the stadium, and when the passes arrived yesterday, they say Lots F and L.

I hope you're right, ewokpelts, because the north lots are prime tailgating territory. :redneck Maybe more important, though, is that the Sox have lacked security in Lots F and L, which means people just drive toward the exit via the shortest route instead of lining up. So you sit there for 90 minutes without moving. Anyone else worried about this? I've mentioned it to a couple of Sox employees who didn't offer much reassurance that they have a plan to fix it.
