According to my 2006 White Sox calendar, the Sox signed Fisk on 3/9/81 - making yesterday the 25th anniversary of Pudge joining the South Siders.

Where did the quarter century go?

Still the greatest, IMO. It was great to see the statue unveiled last year, and great to hear him count that moment among the best in his life.

I know he went to the Hall as a member of the Red Sox, but he's White Sox attitude, through and through.

But that's about the only Sox note of interest on the whole calendar. I think it's the same info for all MLB teams, and they just change the logos.:?:

Contracts must be mailed by a certain date. Boston's post mark was a date late which made Fisk a free agent. He then went for the cash!

That signing was huge at the time.
It changed the perception of the Sox as serious players for free agents.
That was a fun time in Sox history for me. Luzinski was my favorite at the time.
