I didn't see a thread about this afternoon's game. Who do we have pitching for us? Who's playing?

Anyone else too excited about Spring Break Opening Day?

Spring Break is what you get when you're in college. Spring Training is what the White Sox are going through right now.

I guess I deserved an answer like that... must have been thinking ahead to my Vegas trip in two weeks.

Anyway, does anyone have info on who is playing today?

I know the game is on the Score, will you be able to get it on the internet?

WSCR has an online listen thing, but so did WMVP, and that one didn't include Sox games on the internet for some reason.

Nope, never. No radio station is allowed to broadcast their MLB, NBA, NFL, etc. games on the Internet. MLB wants to be the one making money at that...

Any word on if they will cover the game on Gameday?

That blows. I used to listen to NHL games on my computer nightly.

mlb.com's Press Pass documents are available for the game. Colorado's is up but the Sox still have some hokey game from October 26, 2005 listed.:redneck

whitesox.com's schedule says it will be on MLB.TV, and MLB.TV says it will be broadcasting all spring trainnig games and WBC games for free over streaming internet. However (and I know the link wouldn't be live yet anyway), when I clicked on the MLB.TV link from sox.com, it crashed IE. And the MLB.TV site doesn't actually list today's game among the games it's broadcasting this week. So the answer is, I don't know. :D:

EDIT: I'm a freaking idiot today. Apparently you can only watch online for free if you SUBSCRIBE to MLB.TV. Which, if you ask me, doesn't actually work out to being free, but that's how they advertise it. Not sure what's wrong with me, but it's about the third brain-fart of the day over here.

It's say on WSCR that Contreras will be starting and limited to aprox. 45 pitches.

I believe that the game will be broadcated this afternoon if you have MLB Gameday audio. I bought the full season package last year and listened all the time and it was well worth it. It only costs 15 bucks for the year and you get all the Sox games plus last year I would listen to some other teams if there was a good game on during the day. I also recived an email to from MLB telling me that I was already signed up for another year of MLB Gameday Audio and in that email it said this about Spring Training games: "Your subscription has more live baseball than ever before, including live Spring Training and World Baseball Classic games." Also I looked on the schedule and the Sox game is on it for today.

Here's the link. You need a 2005 (or 2006!) subscription, though.

Actually, I was talking about the Gameday that just gives visual/text updates (no audio). You know, the one that shows pitch location, guys moving around the bases, etc. I can't listen to audio at work.

In any event, the Sox Press Pass is now up.

I'm actually surprised it was up. Last year, the Sox were always behind the other teams in terms of updates.

I'm just glad that the Sox are on the WSCR this year - it has a much broader range, which means I will be able to listen to the radio here in South Bend and when I get home to Madison - lucky me, no more need to subscribe!

Not true.

We used a Colorado station feed online to listen to Sox-Rockies games a couple of years ago.

Ok so I just decided to buy the season audio on mlb.com. The Sox are losing 2-0. 1 homerun and a double RBI

sounds pretty decent, but I'm scared about listening to Farmio do play by play for 162 games this season. Singleton could use a shot of personality, as well.

Farmer: "Lazy fly ball, drifting out to right field... and it's gone."

Singleton sounds pretty eager to provide analysis, but it's coming in bunches with stretches of only Farmer in between. There's no chemistry between them yet, but I expect that to come later. If it doesn't, we'll know the wrong decision was made. All I know right now is that I miss John Rooney.
