Hey everybody, I wanted to get a custom authentic sox jersey, but I don't know the number sizes, like is 52 equal to XXL? Thanks for the help guys.

The number is the chest size. I wear a 44 myself so I'd definitely say 52 is around xxl.

if you are ordering online this wont help but if you are looking at somewhere like the grandstand they will let you try several on to make sure they fit.

My advice would also be to go to a jersey store (Grandstand, Pro-Jersey) and try on numerous sizes to be sure of what size fits you best. Then go online and search for who has the best price on the jersey your looking for. Unless you don't mind wasting the money, don't bother paying retail.

Baseballsales.net (http://baseballsales.net/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=8&sort=3a&page=6) I've dealt with these guys before without problems. The jersey's are as cheap as you'll find, but there's no names or numbers on the back. They do customize for any current players, but I don't know how much they charge or how the quality of their work is.

Here's the general rule:

40 M
44 L
48 XL
52 XXL

Those are the sizes offered by Majestic and used to be offered by Rawlings and Russell. Occassionally you might see a different size on a game-used jersey on Ebay, but those are special-issued (46 is a common in-between size that a lot of players wear)

I'm tall and thin, and usually buy t-shirts/polos etc. in a medium, but I sometimes prefer jerseys in a large. you shouldnt definately try a bunch on to make sure.

Those sizes are Correct. If you normally wear a LARGE sized shirt, then a 44 is what you want.

I buy 52 because I like the jersey big and you can comfortably put a long sleeve on underneath if it's chilly.

It's not a true measurement. I wear a 44R in suits (Every freakin' day!) , but my authentic jersey size is a 48. The shoulders on that shirt fit me perfectly. Don't forget to get the World Champion patch for the shoulder! I also wear a L sportshirt. You want some room under the jersey, so you can put a long sleeve t-shirt under it...
