I've lived for years in the Cub's shadow. My sisters, one a manager at Gamekeepers, the other a caretaker to a Cubbie family-- both pushed me over the edge. My brothers forgot their time in Old Comiskey. They adopeted the Cubs due to popularity as well as job expectations. Anyways, its been a long time coming....but..
Walk away, Cubbies...us true fans are glad to be here. WE ARE THE CHAMPS!!!! Game over....no Cubteam will come close in the next decade.....smile finally my friends....
WS = Good luck = from now on

And when I see their trophy, on the South Side
Their fans walking with heads high, they have Sox Pride
Just walk away Renee
You won't see the Cubbies win it all
The Wrigley Field sidewalks are no longer the same
Tribune's to blame
From deep inside the Cubs, make me cry
From deep inside the pain I chose to hide
Just walk away Renee
You won't see the Cubbies win it all
Now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me it cries
Your name and mine engraved on a Cubbie Brick
I paid one sixty for it now I feel sick
Just walk away Renee
You won't see the Cubbies win it all
Now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me it cries
Just walk away Renee
You won't see the Cubbies win it all
The Wrigley Field sidewalks are no longer the same
Tribune's to blame

As a 60's musicologist (hey,I was born in 1962,alright??),
it's The Left Banke. All bands spelled their names differently
back then;the Monkees,the Beatles,the Byrds,the Cryan' Shames
and,of course, the Shadows Of Knight and the Cyrkle.
