ohhh, that's nice.
I like how they finally did a pose that's not just batting or running.

Oh, and BTW, Mcfarlane also made a Frank Thomas figure.

I like the pose, b/c it shows that he's safe and calling timeout, whereas him sliding into the base or running wouldnt.

Well put, the detail level is there too.

I thought they were coming out with a Thome as well???

I like the Podsedik but it seems like a weird choice considering Beuhrlie, Konderko and Dye is also on the team.

I'm with you though, I'll take it!

How much will it be?

How much will it be?
My guess based on his previous sports figures, anywhere from 10-20 bones depending on how big they are.

I like it, since I've seen him do the pose where he calls for time when it's close and he knows he's safe.

I wish the base would be near his hand though

I believe the reason why they went with Podsednik over guys such as Buehrle and Konerko is because Podsednik's style of play would give McFarlane a unique pose to sculpt, compared to Konerko in his batting stance or Mark Buehrle on the mound. Many people get fed up with the lack of originality in the poses, so this one is a breath of fresh air. I'm just sad that it's not in the home uniform. :(

About time, I have 14 Mcfarlane MLB figures and I stopped because he kept making figures of the same players over and over. But the biggest reason was he ignores the Sox players. He has done Frank Thomas but they want 44.00 bucks for it. Hes done Nomar Prior Sosa Wood Ramirez Lee and I believe Maddux for the srcubs

It's a sweet figure! They need a 2nd one now...

They also made a Sammy Sosa retro piece. He is wearing the Sox unifrom from 1990.

Yeah I saw the FT figure from the all star game but I refused to buy it because it looked NOTHING like Big Frank, I wanted it too because I've collected lots of Thomas stuff.

As far as the Pods figure, it's nice, but doesn't Scotty usually slide headfirst?
he always puts that protector on his thumb once he gets on base.

Let's go McFarland! time to honor Buehrle, Konerko, Iguchi even AJ or Freddie from the WORLD CHAMPS
instead of your 10th Nomar or any slug that happens to be a Yankee.

now that I look at it agqain, it appears as though Pods has slid head first
and has caught the base with his toe. my bad

Ah, I was thinking the same thing you were thinking at first. Looking at it again, he did in fact "over-shoot" the base on a head-first dive. Very good looking statue.

I thought it looked just like him.

The pose is supposed to be Pods after he slides head first into 2nd base, over shoots the bag, and is called safe. Notice the dirt on the front of his jersey- that's from a headfirst slide.
