Not a fan; too retro looking for me. Nothing says World Series logo like the one from 2005! :D:

Doesn't hold a candle to the 2005 logo. 2003 is the nicest looking one.

Meh. The logo's ok, by itself. When it's on the Sox jerseys in the series, it'll be sweet.

Eh, it's not that bad.

Keep it simple, not too busy...unlike 2004 :o:

Now that I thought was brutal

I wish it looked more like the logos from the past two years.

One Word. UGLY
However, the MLB logos blow away the NFL Super Bowl logos,
which are some of the most hideous ive ever seen, year after year after year. MLB is quickly heading down that path........

I still think the MLB All-Star game logos are the best special logos in sports. Aside from a bad spell in Boston/Atlanta/Philly, they're usually pretty sweet looking.

I'll go with 1989.

I seem to remember people on here not liking the 2005 logo initially when it was first introduced a year ago. :D:

I was just thinking the same thing. I remember when Fenway posted the pics of the WS and All-Star logos around this time last year.

Hey, at least this year's logo looks a lot better than those ones from the 1980's. Between 1980 and 1986, they're all the same design! http://www.sportslogos.net/Site/team.php?t=484

Yes but many of you said it would look fine if the White Sox won in 05

Not to Hi-Jack the thread or anything, but if people don't like the logo, maybe people should try and create a logo just for fun to see if they could do better. I admit I don't much care for the logo, but I could live with it.

I agree, I like it too. Glad I'm not the only one. It is certainly better looking than the WS05 logo. I hated how they abbreviated it to "WS" instead of spelling out WORLD SERIES.

Like someone had already alluded to, I'll like the 2006 WS patch a whole lot more when it's sewn of the Sox uni's come this October. :redneck

Also as someone already pointed out, the 2003 WS patch is really head and shoulders above all the others.

What I'd like to know is, what the heck were they thinking back in '76? It was our country's bicentennial, and that was the best they could come up with? Whatever.
[... not to mention 1977 -ugh]

[... not to mention 1977 -ugh]I second that. The '05 WS logo did look a little strange until it was sewn on the Sox uni's in October. I remember Sun-Times columnist Phil Rosenthal criticising the logos MLB was putting on the sides of the caps the WS teams were wearing. Oh, well...I really don't care what the World Series logo looks like. It's only the American League champions I'm worried about, and they'd better be that team from the south side of Chicago if you know what I mean.

Thats funny, I was going to say I like the 76 one, if they had a different Font on it. I like the trophy being in the backround.

They seem to get 1 design they like, and roll with it for a few years. 78 and 79 were the same, 80-86 were the same. 87-91, and 92-99 were basically the same, just different colors, and the last 2 were rotated slightly.

It would be cool if they changed them every year from here on out, that way you can relate the design to your own team.

Did you read the text under the logo? I also wonder who will be "competiting" :-p
