I'm looking for one of those 1979-81 type jerseys with the big blue collars. Something different to have at Spring Training this year. But all Mitchell and Ness has available is Size 60. Anyone know another place I can get one? Thanks for the help!

I bought the last 1980 road jersey on the 14 size 56 off Mitchell and ness. You could try ebay.

I wish Majestic would re-issue these jerseys in a variety of sizes, like they have with the 1983 jerseys. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Except size 60 which the OP was complaing about in the first place. So we have come full circle.

Thanks for the help. Mitchell and Ness had me on hold for 20 minutes, so I just hung up. Maybe if I have a few more sausages, I can fit into their size 60. :redneck

Maybe Grandstand has your size. They had some of those jerseys there last fall.

Just be patient. I wanted the 1972 sky blue Dick Allen jersey, but it was sold out. I checked back on it a month or two later, and it was back on sale. They are a small company, and only can produce a limited amount. So if you can wait a little while, it will be available again in more sizes for people other than Offensive Linemen.

I've asked many times why they make these in neantherdal size only and I have yet to get a good answer! :?:

Good grief were those uniforms ugly. The fact that Bill Veeck ditched the Old English Sox logo and went to pajama uniforms shows that even a genius comes up with some duds.

When I was a kid and first started following the Sox, these were their uniforms and they were a laughingstock. Then they went to those equally bad Astros-wannabe uniforms.

It all worked out in the end when the Sox went back to their classic uniforms in 1991.

Because their market research indicated that the few Sox fans that would be interested are all overweight slobs that usually wear nothing but wife-beaters...
