In case you don't get an e-mail, your password is your season ticket account number.

Can't wait for the first reports...

Are there ticketmaster fees? If so, per game? or entire order? :(:

And you need a regular ticketmaster account too it looks like so you might want to sign yourself up for one of those if you haven't yet.

When you do the multiple game thing, can you only have 1 window opened? Meaning can you buy for like 3 games at once? I know for the playoffs if you had multiple windows/games open the thing would have an error.

You won't be able to log in right now unless you are a Scout or Suite holder. Patience!

Does anyone know if they are charging Ticketmaster fees? Many people seem to think they will be but I haven't seen this confirmed.

Multiple games it pulls up the full season... click on the dates you want by game... then it'll go game by game through how many you want and where...
i.e. it'll look like you opened up a single window, select what you want and then click continue, which will bring up the next game that you selected

4/4 552 Row 3 2 tix
5/19 cubs 530 row 19 2 tix

Because people that have season tickets sometimes have groups of 6 or 8 splitting 2 seats so it's a way for more people to go to certain games.

I'm not a season ticket holder, so I have no chance of getting any good games this year either, but that's fine - if a person is willing to spend thousands of dollars on the Sox, I figure it's fair for them to get some perks. And, honestly, I'd rather season ticket holders get the tickets than new bandwagon fans getting them in a public sale

What makes you think they aren't going to fans? I am a full season ticket holder and now my brother gets to go, he is a fan.

Plus, not all season ticket holders are full season ticket holders. They dont get every game, so they fill in the gaps.

If by "any games" you mean "opening series or Cubs games" then I would have to agree with you.

I'll tell you what, if by tomorrow morning all 81 home games are sold out through the season ticket presale, I'll sell you a pair of tickets for face for a weekend game. But since that is not going to happen, then I'd say get an mlb.com password, buy tickets for one of the 60-75 or so games that will have tickets available, and go cheer for the defending World Champs.

the games that I am speaking of were mainly weekend/Sunday games. I am not interested in the Cub series because I would most likely kill a cub fan. Of course, I would of loved to go to opening day with the rest of Chicago or the game on April 4 or 5th (would of taken off work for those). I wrote down about 5 weekend games that I would have liked to attend:

Besides the opening series which is obvious the games that I would of liked to attend would be:

May 7 Sunday
June 11 Sunday
June 25 Sunday
Sept 8 Friday
Sept 24 Sunday

It sounds like all of these would have been sold out as well. I will still try and get a ticket tomorrow but I guess I had my hopes up too high and was at least expecting a nosebleed seat for any opening day.

I have the split weekend package and opening day is not part of my package. In years past I was able to get 2 tickets to opening day as a perk of being a season ticket holder. Not this year.
This will be my 13th opening day and the one game I didn't want to miss this season.
Also I have family members who want tickets to games that they normally decide to go to at the last minute so I was taking care of them now so I don't have to listen to them whining later about not having tickets.

I bought a couple on the multiple page, and then 3 games each seperately, and got charged the same 4.25/ticket charge, so what was the price advantage of, doing one purchase as opposed to all seperate? I didnt get to log on until 10:07 for some reason to.

Just why I bought more seats to some games was I only have 2 season, and have a family of four, so now on just a few games I can bring everyone at least, even though we are sitting only 2 together, it's the best I can afford.:(:

I listed tickets for the Cubs and other key series (Boston, New York, Astros and Cardinals) at cost (and with no bogus $4.25 per ticket ticketmaster fee either) in the parking lot (see link below). I packaged them with a few other games since I have full season tickets but cannot possibly go to all 81. The seats are very good UD Box 3 rows above the "premium box" (and you save $6 per pair) in between home & first with a great view of the entire field.

If people are looking to get tickets at face and catch a few other games as well (packages have fireworks games and other good promos) you can email me and I'll set aside the tickets. I'm looking to keep a few of the packages for my own use. I like to sell the tickets at face to Sox fans cause I know what is like to have to go to a scalper (2005 Playoffs :o: ).

I think it's having a problem with the MLB.com account. I already HAD an MLB.com account and it didn't accept it. What they should have done to avoid confusion, (which there always seems to be with T'Master) is post the schedule indicating that Scout seat, and Suite holders would get the first crack at 9am, followed by "regular" season ticket holders at 10am. After my first round of buying tickets for for the opening and cubs series, I keep getting an invalid password thingy when I go back to buy tickets for other games. What gives?

Check your email. I got an email from my rep at about 10:30 this morning stating some links were not working and people were having problems.

They gave me a new link and new password. We already had all of the extras we wanted by then so we didn't need it.

At least they were very responsive on fixing the problem people were having.

I still got some tickets but after much frustration. I did the multiple game thing got all the way until I had to verify my cc picked the cc I wanted to use and then ERROR! I had 2 tickets for every game of the opening series and the cubs/sox series. Then when I tried to do it every time after it wouldnt let me and said there was an order pending or something? When I looked in order history nothing. Finally I went in and did one game at a time and the orders went through but that also meant a lot of extra charges  and no opening day or Saturday cubs/sox but oh well still managed to get two for ring day four for the friday cubs/sox (two accounts) and two for the Sunday cubs/sox. I hate ticketmaster!!!

Thats how I found WSI. Was searching google for lists of "discount codes" for Sox games last season and a WSI thread came up where there was a long list.

I was kicked out on the first try when I entered my MLB password, so I immediately lost all my games (I went with the "6" multiple games) and worse...the parking.
The site kept my games in a virtual folder, and the second time, my MLB password was allowed, but the parking for Cub/Sox and Opening night went by the wayside.
So, I ended up with 2 tickets each: 4/4 game (w/ parking), all 3 Cub/Sox (no parking and all upper deck), Elvis Night w/ parking, first Oakland game (outfield w/ parking), and Fan Appreciation (Last home game/last game of the regular season w/ parking).
This is all I plan on shelling out, along with my split season tix.
No parking for Cub/Sox is quite the bummer!
Looks like I will be getting up to the game....way early!
Gotta love those ticketmaster charges.
What a rip off!!

I had problems with multiple at first but worked through it. It was right after 10:00 and some of the games I selected had a field to enter the Season Ticket holder password but some of them only had the Scout/Suite field. Of course, it wouldn't let me get those games so I had to retry until the fields showed up for all the games I wanted.

I didn't try the multiple games option, and although I got ripped off with the charges, what can you do? I got every game I wanted, and that only took me about 4 minutes. I must have still had an adrenaline rush, because I went ahead and bought 2 tickets to like...4 more games. A couple twins games for friends, the Cards cause I want to see them, and one other.

Spent $600 this morning on White Sox tickets, twice as much as I had planned on spending. I think I may have to cancel my spring break plans...

Logged into mlb.com this morning (per instructions in my email from the White Sox) and setup a new account and password. In the meantime, those of us who have had season tickets for over five years get screwed out of extras for our groups because Ticketmaster sucks. With all the demand, they could have said they aren't even offering the extras anymore. I would be willing to bet that if they win again you may not see this perk next year.
I have had season tickets for a long time also, and yeah it sucks dealing with Ticketmaster but I knew once they won that nothing was going to be the same when it came to tickets. I really didn't think the process was that bad considering the volume they are dealing with. I did the same thing that I have with playoff tickets in the past, I setup my account ahead of time so I could just go right in and get tickets. Everyone had a good shot at tickets if they did a little work.
Why should people who are new ST holders be punished? They put up the same amount of money. What if they said that the only people who could buy these were those that had ST since the park opened? Then you would have been left out and angry. It is only fair to give all ST holders the same shot.

4 Tickets for Sat May 6th on Stubhub in the lower level are going for as low as $30 each. That's right around face for a Sat. game, esp if you include TM charges (not sure on exactly what face would be). Even cheaper if you want uppers (as low as $12).

You have a choice. You can choose to not buy them. You are getting the chance to buy tickets before the general public and because of the demand this year that perk now comes with a price. If you don't want to pay it, then don't buy the tickets.
Getting tickets cheap and easily is now a thing of the past. If the Sox go far again this year it will be worse next year.

My sympathies to those who had trouble getting tickets. I was befuddled by the delay in being able to access the system and the multiple passwords, and I was stunned by TicketMaster's gouging. I was still was able to get one of the two games I was looking for.

I'm surprised so many report they got Cubs and Yankee tickets.

With so much demand, I don't know how they can accommodate everyone online. I suppose they could do let full season holders go ahead of us partials, but then maybe they would snatch up all the good games before we got a chance.

What will it be like next year if the Sox win the World Series again? Egad!

I've been a full season ticket holder since '86 and was disappointed that I was unable to purchase my usual allotment of tickets for the Cubs series. But that's the price you pay for success. The days of having an empty seat near you for your jacket and another empty seat near you for your food are [thankfully] gone -- hopefully forever. While I'll miss short lines at the concession stands and getting out of the parking lot and onto the expressway in under 5 minutes, there's absolutely no substitute for a full ballpark and a winning team.

I had no problems at all this morning getting decent seats to the 4 games I wanted (including all 3 games against the Cubs). And for those of you who are complaining (all season ticket holders), think how slim the pickings will be tomorrow for 99% of the fan base who isn't fortunate to have season tickets or be part of a season ticket group.

Within a few years I believe there will be a new option other than ticketmaster. Demand dictates it. Almost everybody now has access to the internet which will make the use of a place like ticketmaster that has physical locations as well obsolete. It was different in times past when people would actually have to go to a ticketmaster location. A company could really clean up if they offered a low price alternative where you were only allowed to buy tickets online. It could be done relatively cheaply (costs would be for bandwith, servers, and just a few employees). Ticketmaster just pretty much has a monopoly right now.

Tickets.com already has almost half the MLB teams, and they charge the same ridiculous fees as TM. These companies would not exist if they didnt make money off you with their fees. Anyone remember how jammed the sale was for the World Series? Every event would be like that if TM didnt charge you their fees.

Tickets.com popped up a few years ago with basically that idea, and now it's basically as bad as Ticketmaster is. The way I see it, unless a ticket company can give a team a good reason to change to them, they're probably not going to do it. And the only good reason a company really could give would be to give the team a bigger chunk of the action, and to do that, they'd probably have to raise fees, which would make them just as bad for the fans.

People complain about Ticketmaster, and I agree they're far from perfect and charge way too much, but at least they generally (and note I said "generally", don't start posting about times they've screwed you, it's happened to everybody) do a pretty decent job. I can't imagine the uproar that would happen if the Sox switched to some new company, and then it turned out people were hacking into it or their servers crashed or something and there were major ticketing problems all season.

The only way the fans will ever benefit is if teams allow competition between different services, but I can't see that ever happening.

Tickets.com already has almost half the MLB teams, and they charge the same ridiculous fees as TM. These companies would not exist if they didnt make money off you with their fees. Anyone remember how jammed the sale was for the World Series? Every event would be like that if TM didnt charge you their fees.

Its just supply and demand. Ticketmaster is a business and like every other business they want to make as much money as they can. If something is in short supply and high demand, it will cost more.
Ticketmaster probably made no money off the Sox in past years because people didn't use them for regular season tickets like this. Most people just walked up to the ticket window the day of the game or bought tickets for future games at the park. Now that the demand is higher and you don't have the luxury of waiting to buy them at the park, Ticketmaster profits.

One word...karma.

Since I had my mlb acct i had no problems. I logged in and got my tickets and was done by 10:07am. The only problem I had was when I went to go for the Cubs tickets a little after 11 I waited to long to put in my info and they were gone when I tried again. Oh well!

Next time you might want to plan ahead. Try testing your accounts before its gametime. I logged into Ticketmaster yesterday and setup the default credit card. Logged into mlb.com this morning (per instructions in my email from the White Sox) and setup a new account and password. Then once the sale happened, did the multiple game option twice (6 games each time) and got every game I wanted. Smooth as silk. Couldn't be more pleased with the process.

I agree I had all my stuff entered from a while ago so all I had to do was login and go to town. I think the process was just fine.

Ticketmaster manages the accounts for season tix holders and has an interface that allows for ticket transferring and resale of tix on the Sox site.

These extra services don't cost season tix holders, so I'd imagine the Sox brass said yes to whatever surcharges TM wanted to charge in exchange for the management of the season ticket holder base, which is substantial.

With the fact that MLB owns Tickets.com and market place for this service isn't end user but the arenas and teams which sell the tickets, MLB has no incentive to place price pressure on Ticket Master charges.

Guys, the Sox are defending WS champs. Things are not going to be free, or even cheap from now on. You're not going to get 300 tickets between the bases in the first row for 100 bucks. Just wait till the games start; I'm sure prices, policies, and amenities will be different INSIDE the Cell as well. Comes with winning and I'll take it any time.

Actually I think they charge a fee if you email your ticket to someone else. Sox probally pay somesort of management fee to outsource this operation to TicketMaster.

Transferring tickets incurrs a fee of $2 per ticket. Unless they changed it this year.

Actually the team doesnt see any of these fees. The charges suck, but you dont have to pay them if you dont want. If you guys think these charges are steep, you shoulda bought Rolling Stones tickets. Service fees for their $400+ face value tickets were areoun $30/ticket!!!

The team has a contract with Ticketmaster and gets compensated for allowing them to sell the tickets. I don't have the details but part of those fees reach the White Sox as part of payment on the contract. Believe me, the White Sox do not allow Ticketmaster to gross millions without being compensated - "Reinsdorf" as President Bush calls him, is not stupid.

Also, MLB owns Tickets.com and thus the fees go to MLB. Theoretically, those fees going to MLB should help keep ticket prices down.

The problem with the ticketmaster fees is they charge:

1. A $4.25 fee PER TICKET
2. An Order Process Fee
3. A $2.00 charge PER TICKET to print them out at home (which saves ticketmaster money via not having to print, process and mail the tickets - they charge you for saving Ticketmaster $). On top of that anyone trying to buy these printed tickets might as well buy a ticket on scratch paper as both are subject to fraud as many Sox fans learned last postseason (the owner can print 2, 10 or 100 of the same ticket).

Tickets.com fees are not as high as Ticketmaster - I have used them for Cubs and several out of town stadiums.

I try to buy tickets at the ballpark to avoid the fees which are sometimes 1/2 the cost of the ticket. A 10% fee is reasonable - a 50% fee isn't.
