Tempted... I have a friend down there that owes me some money that I need to visit  (he bet the Yanks would get farther than the Sox last April)...

Problem is potential work schedule/6-7 other road trips... If I win the lottery I might make a few more than I had planned already but we'll see..

I'll be there with my Mom, Dad, and gf. I live down in Wichita so my family and I head up to KC every time the chisox are in town.

I hope you are driving to KC because if you plan on flying it SUCKS!!! I flew into KC on opening day a couple of years ago. When Colon was with the team. I spend so much money on a cab it was crazy and then the ballpark is in the middle of nowhere it was so boring never again will I attend a game in KC.

Well the Royals get 8,000 strong to the games. Kaufman isn't exactly hopping these days. At the games there is usually a strong White Sox contingent, so it is pretty fun. But yes the park is in the middle of nowhere, and yes it is a little boring.

I work for a major airline here in chicago, would love to go,even to
see the Royals for one game on that Friday. If someone has an extra
ticket,(I'll pay),would love to go with a group of Sox fans.

You are right in that the airport is in the middle of nowhere and the ballpark is completely on the east side of KC (whereas the airport is northwest, if i remember correctly).

However, I have been to Kaufman a few years back and wouldn't necessarily call it boring. It is a nice park. It is actually pretty cool to see it from the highway too. It's just more of a family atmosphere. A buddy of mine was liquored up and still cheering on the Sox when they were up by 12 or so runs. Got a lot of dirty looks because he was being obnoxious but all in all, the people are friendly and it's pretty nice park.

Plus, partying in KC can be good times!

You claim you were bored at Kauffman Stadium or on the cab ride there, yet you're suggesting people drive there from Chicago instead of flying? :?:

we are staying at a hotel outside of KC 3 miles. The front desk said its a 7 minute cab ride to the park.

do they permit tailgaiting outside of the park? we could have a WSI tailgate.
