If a Cubs fan ever says anything to you about "trashy" White Sox fans, feel free to use this information I posted on another site. Feel free to add anything and correct anything I might have gotten wrong.

Anyways, are you familiar with the name "John Murray"? Considering you're older than me you should know who he is. He's the guy who rushed Randy Meyers after giving up a home run. How about Ronald Camacho? Ask Chad Kreuter, he'll remind you about the Wrigley incident. Anyone remember Steve Bartman? I think so. He's the guy who had to be escorted out of the friendly confines for his own safety, psychos driving by his house waiting for him, and phoning in death threats. Has anyone been shot and killed outside of the Cell lately? Nope. But in 2004 a guy was killed near the Cubby Bear lounge. If you knew anything, you would know it's right across the street from Wrigley. Oh those fun-loving Cubs fans!

The guy who jumped the umpire at a White Sox game? His name is Erik Dybas...and guess what? He's a Cubs fan. I'll copy and paste the text from the Sun-Times.

MOD EDIT: Not that this isn't a dead horse, but that's not why approximately 1/2 your text was erased. Please note that one of our board's policies is that we ask you don't copy and paste large amounts of copyrighted text here; please provide a link to the material.

But seriously. Dead horse.

Wuv,

Rich Keating was a law school classmate of mine. He's a solid South Side White Sox fan. Hates the Blue Ones.

Of course the ultimate beauty of all beauty Cubs fans was John Wayne Gacy. If a Cubs fan wants to play that game, the dropping of that name oughta end the conversation.

You'll find the bad fans for every team out there. I've met bad and good for both ballclubs.

Why take all of your time mentioning all of that when you can easily vanquish them by saying "2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox!"

Cub fans this, Cub fans that, blah blah blah and so on and so forth.

Seriously, get over it. Try talking about the White Sox for once, and forget about that other team.

I'm sure you'll probably want to have my username deleted altogether because of my reply. However, I would like to respectfully point out that I find it rather ironic that someone who has nearly 12,000 career posts is telling me I need a life.

There's definitely some irony here...

I honestly haven't gotten any grief from the Cub fans I know since 10/26/05. They'll give the tired old "AJ cheated" bit once in a while, but I just reply with "how many runs scored on that play?". With a smile....ALWAYS with a smile...:D:
But for the most part, they'll admit that they're a little jealous and they'd love to know the feeling we got to enjoy last October.
To me, the rivalry is dead. I passed on the Cub series when my ticket syndicate did our draft. I just don't care. It was MUCH more important to me to make sure I got a game against the A's for Frank's return and against my favorite NL team, the Cardinals.

Lets not forget the "fans" that ran on the field during that game against the Royals on a Monday nite? All Cub fans. One of the guys was also from Alsip, he and his brother ran the field, theres a picture of him being interviewed at his front door, and hes wearing his 21 Sosa jersey. HAHAHAHAH!!! His name escapes me, but yeah, this info is like that can of Foam-fix-a-flat in your trunk. Useless until you really need it

The Cubs should be viewed as England is now viewed by the United States.

Nah. England is still a world power. I was thinking more along the lines of countries like Belize, or Lichtenstein. Both seem to look to be very nice and charming, tiny little countries, who don't really matter much on the world stage.

I was well aware of you having some sort of tie to this board. I was only being sarcastic as it appears 90 percent of the posts are of similar ilk. As for copying and pasting from a newspaper article, I have seen others do it many times which made be believe it wasn't a problem. If you really feel the need to censure me because I repeated a post then go ahead and do so. Obviously, it is your board. I'm just a guest here and am unable to do anything about it. However, I am sure I'm not the first to commit this egregious error nor will I be the last.

Well first off, I was the one who erased the better part of your post (as evidenced by the love note I left at the bottom). Copying and pasting from newspapers articles is permitted, but only a very brief part. The material you are republishing here is still copyrighted and our board and website can get in some trouble if we had people reposting all sorts of material here. it's not a big deal and happens all the time. There's a thread stuck at the top of the Clubhouse entitled, "Things Every WSI Poster Should Know." It goes over most of the do's and don't's established for our boards.

Peace. :peace:

Well obviously I don't want to be banned from the board. I read other posts and try not to deviate too much from the norm. In fact, I believe that's the fist time I've ever copied and pasted from a published article. I appreciate the opportunity to read other posts as well as make my views known.

The Flubs and their fans aren't even a pimple on the ass of progress. Who the hell cares about them?

If you wish to categorize me as Flubsessive that's your pregorative. White Sox fans have been unfairly lumped in with those who run onto the field and assault others (Ligues, Dybas, and the Biggio incident). I, for one, have always described White Sox fans as classy and these incidents are not indicative of who we are just as the incidents at Wrigley are not indicative of all Cubs fans. If you wish to change my user id to "Needalifer" because I vigorously defend myself and White Sox fans as not the "Ligues" then feel free. In the meantime, we'll just let the Cubs bleachers update run free and not, in any way, be described as "Flubsessive."

I know I'm not West....but your initial post came way out of left field. There was nothing leading up to it. You're preaching to the choir here. Do you think we all need to be convinced that we're not all Ligue's?

I don't know how it is in Encino, CA but around here the Sox winning the WS was enough to keep the other half of the city quiet for the most part

You'd be surprised how often it comes up. I go to all three games in Anaheim when the White Sox are in town. WGN does have a presence here and I'm sure you're well aware of what sells. Even though it's been a few years, that's really all the White Sox were known for before the World Series.

I hadn't even heard or remembered the name Ligue or Dybas (up until you made that post) for a couple of years.
