I stopped at HIP shopping mall today and was walking around when I came upon a Cubs letterman jacket. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself when I saw what it said on the back....

Because that's such a HUGE accomplishment.

The best part about that jacket?
It'll never be outdated. :D:

How do you brag about something that happened before you were born much less work up the courage to spend that kind of cash to buy something that promotes that?

Doesn't that kind of go against the lovable loser image?

Whoever thought this monstrosity up should be taken out into the street and shot. Its an affront to all things cubby.

If they get to a hundred years since the last time, does it even count anymore?!?!

The Sox have a shirt out right now that says "5 World Series Appearances". The Cubs one isn't much different other than they didn't win anything last year

Fixed it for you.

Seriously though, someone wearing that after the Sox just won the World Series just has no shame. It almost seems like it's mocking the Cubs. I'd be surprised if they sell many of these.

Yeah, I thought the jacket was really a parody.

Even Cub fans are so stupid as to wear this thing.

How much is it? Might be worth it as a gag gift for some family members/friends of mine....

On the other hand you can think of it as an investment... I mean they will never have to change the number. Unless they start to subtract wins. :redneck

Just wait till next year and it will be...Because next year is the Cubs' year.

Actually that jacket is perfect for a cubs fan. It's ugly, shows how pathetic the team is, and it's probably overpriced.

The Cubs are all about tradition. That looks like a $300 jacket that sort of celebrates a tradition no other team can match.

The Cubs are on the verge this decade of accomplishing something that no other Major League Baseball team has accomplished. Even when the Phillies won their World Series in 1980 and dated their frustration into the 19th century, they hadn't gone 100 years without a championship.

I don't see any other team acdomplishing that in my lifetime. The Indians will celebrate the 100th anniversary of their last championship in 2048. I could live to see that, but the Indians will have some time to avoid the century-of-frustration thing.

Wow. That is both tacky and pathetic.
Which also nicely describes the Cubs and their fans!
