That was pretty much what summed up SoxFest. Oh and im talking about my Trophy, hehheh. I got to SoxFest late on Friday (thankfully) and met up with MikeBooyah, and while we were walking around, everyone kept asking where the Trophy was, I said at home and after numerous requests, decided to bring it on Saturday. Palehose13 was gracious enough to host it in her room til Saturday nite, it was really hilarious how everybody wanted a picture with it.

Val brought it down and came up the back stairs to our table. The mood in the bar was spirited and high, when a group of SOX fans in the middle of the bar started chanting Lets Go White Sox. Of course, the whole bar starts cheering and chanting along and was pretty loud. Someone (me?) hoisted the Trophy in the Air and the place went bananas. At that moment, I noticed Sox Security looking over at us, and faster than you could say He-Gawn, they came over and thought we had the Real one. Hilarious. I went to the bathroom with it, and the Security guy was walking with me chatting, and everyone AGAIN thought he was escorting Us. Lots of people took pictures with it all nite, including Brooks, Minnie again, Kevin Hickey, Kittle, Greg Walker. The guys over at the Score wanted to see it first hand and hung out for a little bit Sat nite too.

Funniest moment 1. Inexplicably, a Cub fan, cap and all, was nearby just checking out our group, when we all started derisively chanting, Lets Go Cubbies! all the while pointing at the Trophy. He had nothing to say :)
Funniest moment 2. at the Pin Booth (where it was on display Sunday)
2 different security guys mentioned that they had heard they thought someone Actually Took the Real Trophy and was in the bar with it ........
but realized they were mistaken.

Winning is Fun.

I may cheer for the Hawks to go all the way in our lifetime just so I could see how Hangar recreates the Stanley Cup.

The cup is silver, Hangar...

And then you need to etch on every player's name that ever hoisted Lord Stanley's Cup.

Great moments regarding the trophy on Saturday night; I'd say there was a tie for the two funniest.

A very friendly Brooks came over to our table telling us how he thought the Trophy Tour guys had brought it down to the bar and that he was going to kill them; but it was Hangar's!

The other great moment of the night was the Cub fan who decided to show his mug in the bar early in the evening, donned in a Cub hat and all. I think it was chisoxmike who grabbed the trophy and hoisted it high above everyone and we started a rousing chant of "Let's Go Cubbies," followed by chisoxmike telling him, "Suck it, Cub fan!" All the Cub fan could do was raise his beer in our direction. As he left, a very loud "Na Na, Hey Hey, Goodbye" chant broke out! :bandance:
GREAT TIMES HAD BY ALL IN THE BIG BAR ON SATURDAY NIGHT!!! :supernana: :gulp:

Check the WSI Members gallery. There are a plethora of pictures of Hangar's trophy, including from the Christmas Party at Dugan's and SoxFest. The most recent picture was posted by chisoxmike from Saturday night- Hangar, chisoxmike, Ozzie, Jr., and the trophy!

In response the the Real Trophy not having made it out to NW Indiana, I think Iron Fisk originally suggested this. Probably start another thread on this.

My mom was very offended when you called her that! Thanks for letting us all take pictures with the trophy. It was really great to meet everyone. I was really looking forward to that for this SoxFest. Thank God I didn't have to go to work for the "Family Reunion" we were having!

I am one of the lurkers who took a picture with Hangar18's trophy. It turned out great. I would love to post it in the gallery, but I am not very computer savvy. Thanks Hangar for trying to explain to me how to do it. It should be up in about 5 or 6 years. (<--- No teal.)

That trophy was SUPPOSED to make an appearance in a certain Bridgeport abode.

Henry, we've gotta work on that!!!
