ESPN News just announced that he's withdrawing as he does not want to risk injury.

Let the games begin.....

Well, it looks like Team USA will be Barroid-free.

I was looking forward to seeing how much smaller he got in the off-season. Remember his comment about wanting to show up 40 pounds lighter "to take the weight off his knees"? I love that one.

Let the games begin.....If this is IBAF sanctioned, won't they have to pass real drug tests to compete?

Yeah, Steve Smith just mentioned in passing that there was more comprehensive testing, including blood tests. Some who saw Bonds playing golf today reported that he was moving around pretty well but did not look like he'd lost any weight.

Someone remind me again. What is the point of the WBC and why are major league ballplayers participating?

Yep, blood tests for HGH. I wonder why he dropped out.

Why did Sportscenter kick off their show with this as "Breaking News"

Is it really that big? Does anyone really care?

You or I may not, but they do. Hence...

I wish that because he was on the initial roster, that they could test him no matter what...even though he isn't playing.

This guy is something else.
