The days of 25-30 arbitration hearings are long gone. Only about 10-15% of arbitration filings ever go to hearings. It's just not worth the expense and the animosity created in a hearing for the small dollar differences involved. Amazing as it sounds, good sense usually prevails, and most cases are settled somewhere in between.

Is Zambrano worth that much more then the almighty Prior? Granted a line drive was a freak accident, but is he that injury prone to have zambrano get more?

Free agency? Zambrano is a FA after 2007 but Prior isn't until after 2008.

Besides, Zambrano threw up better numbers.
