On the Tribune's website they are having a "write your own caption" to this picture from Cubs Convention. The actual caption reading Cubs outfielder Matt Murton rides a mechanical bull during the weekend Cubs Convention.

In the spirt of "write your own cubune headline." Let's see what you all can come up with for a caption....

"Hey dude, we didn't get to the World Series, or even finish at .500 like those snotty White Sox hombres. Look, man, we always gotta think of new things to get people in that ballpark, and if they wanna watch bull ridin', or potato sack races, that's fine with me. I mean, these people are stupid. They pay just to get into the park...it don't matter what's goin' on on the field, which is fine with me, cuz some days I really don't feel like doin' much managin'. Know what I mean ?" -Dusty Baker

In a refreshing change the bull at the Cubs convention was not sponsored by the Chicago Tribune.

By the way Gary Pressey looks strangely like the Will Farrel SNL character who played the keyboard at high school events.

You guys are disappointing me. The ones on chicagosports.com are way better than what you're writing. A sampling:

After riding the bench for years, Matt Murton is seen here putting his talents to good use.

Yet another 'north side' attraction for the scrub fans. Maybe one day baseball will be on that list.

Cubs outfielder Matt Murton introduces a new part of the Wrigley Field expansion project: Bleacher bullseats.

And my personal favorite:

Dusty is in the background cheering for an injury so he can play Grissom everyday in LF. He also wants Cedeno to take the next ride.

More gold:

in a desperate attempt to get away from cubs fans and the the curse of the team in general, matt murton mounts a bull and tries to ride south. only to realize the bull ins't real, and the sox don't need him.

The Cubs younger fans look in awe at Murton and the bull. Can they take a lifetime of this? The Tribune sure hopes so.
