I'm curious, where is Sammy speculated to be going?

From what I just read today, the Nationals might be interested in offering an incentive-laden contract.

I hope he lands in jail, convicted of perjury.

Nationals and Pirates seem to be the only teams interested. Probably the Nationals more than Pitt because of Jeromy Burnitez choosing the Pirates over Baltimore surprised many, including Pittsburgh.

Probably the Gnats, I would guess. Shame to tarnish yet another franchise. I would never go to PNC Park again if they signed Sosa.

Then again, last time I went to a game there that Sosa played in, he got drilled in the head.

I'm laughing at how all the rumors involve only National League teams. They must want that Gold Glove of his. You'd think he would be better suited for the AL since hitting is what he sells (with the same success I sell the Brooklyn Bridge). Of course, these days with the "junior" circuit winning the All Star Game and World Series year after year, it could be said that the AL is too tough for Mr. Rum Bottle Tuffy.

The Angels may take a shot with this guy as well.

My guess would be Japan, or that Independent team that Canseco played for that one year. Sammy is done! Nobody should sign this bum.

The Land of the Rising Sun. They'll throw a whole bunch of money at him and he'll be treated like a god. Sammy will love the adulation and cash. It makes everybody happy there and more importantly keeps him away from MLB.

Japan seems very likely but the Pirates are the kind of team that would sign someone like Sosa.

Maybe DJ can hook him up with his Japanese connections?

I don't see Sosa being a good fit position wise with the Nats... if Shammy goes to D.C., I'd luv to see the inevitable Sosa & Jose Guillen cat-fat!

Shouldn't this technically be "Dumb Question #28"?

What are the qualifications for that?

Jose Guillen endorses him.

While I wouldn't be surprised if the Pirates went after him even now, considering who they've already picked up and Littlefield's record of being completely incompetent, I believe it's very unlikely.

Somebody will pick up Sammy Sosa. The Nationals might pick up Sammy then he would be done after this season.

Well according to the Q&A that was just posted on Whitesox.com, there is at least one Sox fan that is interested in Sammy coming back to Chicago, the White Sox that is! And I'm not kidding!:o:

Someone actually asked something along the lines of, "Do you think Sammy will come back to the White Sox for a curtain-call type of farewell?'

I actually had to read that question a few times to see if I was reading it correctly. How horrible would that be?!?!

But as you said Wimpy, NOBODY should sign this guy. Not only does he have no place in Major League Baseball, but he has no right to even pick up a bat and glove again. This guy is the lowest of the low, an embarrassment. This guy makes Jose Canseco look like Frank Thomas, what a joke of a human being.

Is there steroid testing in Japanese baseball?

I could see Sosa going to the Rockies. The Rox aren't going anywhere and might take a gamble that Sosa can put up respectable power numbers in Coors and put a few fannys in the seats (he won't though, on either count).

There is and they take it seriously.

I don't think Sammy is a real good fit for any Japanese team. Even there your coach and fellow players respecting you is required to be a member of the team.

I can see it now. Cork pops out of his broken bat and they hand him a knife and expect him to do the right thing.
