Everyone has been so nice and complimentary about the Grinder Rules work I thought I would honor the many requests for the El Duque Ad by putting it up in a large enough form that you can at least print it out and hang it on your wall (I also included a few of my personal favorites). BUT REMEMBER, you can see all of the ads at WhiteSox.com!! Also the radio and TV!! (The radio spot about "never throwing the ball back" and "there is nothing loveable about losing" are worth a listen.)

Here's the link to the ads in large format:

ENJOY!!

Hey question here......there were four buildings lit up at the same time downtown? I only thought there were three of them at once. Wow that looks great.

Just look for the Sox Jersey that is number 24 (get it? Two x Four) with Stevenson on the back. I also might be talkin on the stage with Brooks about the advertising campaign. Stay tuned...But I am always up for free drinks.

Cool. I have way to many jerseys to choose from, but I am sure "13" will be worn at some point that weekend. I have kicked around wearing a nametag cause sometimes it is hard to find/recognize people.

Two By Four: Not to be greedy, but...is there any chance the Grinder Rule (No. 1?) with Buehrle that reads "Only One Stat Matters: W" can be "posterized", too?

Thanks for the other ones - simply awesome. Any chance those will ever be printed on t-shirts?

Just askin'...

Thanks and Go Sox!!!!

First of all Grinder Rule #1 is Win or Die Trying.

Second, little known piece of trivia, there were two versions of "Only one stat matters: W". One was Crede, #10 and one was Buerhle, #2. Same rule, just a screw up on my part with the numbers. That error has been corrected and the rule is now #10 with Crede.

Third, you can see the Buerhle (#2) version and some of the Grinder posters at:
http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/cws/fan_forum/campaigns/outdoor/index.jsp

Fourth, you can also see all of the Grinder Rules that have been produced thus far at:
http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/cws/fan_forum/grinder_rules.jsp

Fifth, I wish I could do books and t-shirts and tattoos and beer coasters and cups and hats and thongs (for the ladies!). But alas, major league baseball and all its agents and contracts are conspiring to keep my money making endeavors down. I am working on some ideas though to get them out there and sell some stuff, if nothing else just to keep the thing going.

Stay tuned and thanks for the kind words and support.

Tattoos!!!

So, um...if we have a few too many beverages at SoxFest then go to a tattoo parlor and we get the grinder rules tattooed(is that correct?) on our bodies, will we be in trouble?

Just a idea, take it if you want it....

T-Shirt idea

front: sox logo, or world series champions logo on the upper left of the shirt
back: just list the grinder rules like you do on the site??? I think that would be great. Obvisouly you would probably have to cut some out to make them all fit.

A example of this would be those joke t-shirts you may find that say "top 10 reasons you know you've drank too much, or top 10 things blah blah blah..."

Just a thought....

Girlfriend = third favorite sox fan

Twoxfour = second favorite sox fan

My favorite sox fan? = the kid on his dad's shoulder's in the low flying aircraft commercial

Keep up the unbelievable work... you may see a resume floating by your desk if architecture doesn't work out.

Hey, but TwoxFour...just an idea... how bout a permanent tribute mural on the northside of that community center in the park...poifect opportunity for some grinder rule immortality... get the community involved and such... I'm sure half of WSI would volunteer.

Also, come down to Puffer's, I'll buy you a beer.:gulp:

Anyone notice that the grinder rules on these posters are different from the ones on http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/cws/fan_forum/grinder_rules.jsp

"Grinder Ball Rule #43: When the other team is down, squeeze the life out of them."

as opposed to:

"43. Step up to the plate even if you're not stepping up to the plate. "

Odd...

Odd...Not odd, the Squeeze line was never produced (see earlier post in this thread). So that number is not actually correct. The squeeze ad was only ever a comp and never ran as an ad, the numbering was just a coincidence that it was used twice. So there was no pint in changing the number on an ad that never ran.

Other than that the Grinder Rules are numbered correctly.

Great job Two X Four, I absolutely love the El Duque "Escape Act" sequence. The first time I saw it in the paper, I said to myself that would make a great "stretch" poster in a dark frame.

I had an idea for a Grinder Rule showing Paul Konerko catching the ball for the final out to win the World Series Championship and say :

Grinder Ball Rule # 110 Baseball is a Game of Inches!!!

http://cache.gettyimages.com/thumb/56490893.jpg?x=x&a=56490893&b=mlb&t=1 (http://javascript<b></b>:OpenChildWindow('http://editorial.gettyimages.com/source/search/details_pop.aspx?iid=56490893&cdi=0', '', 'width=640,height=500,menubar=no,resizable=yes,scr ollbars=yes,status=no,titlebar=no,toolbar=no');)

(not the actual photo of the last out in Game 4...I couldn't find that one online anywhere) This is the final out of game # 3 the Extra Inning affair.

Not that anyone is openly soliciting grinder rules or posters, but every time I see Podsednik getting "punched" as he dives into the stands at Yankee Stadium, I think it would make a nice grinder poster. Probably can't due to legal issues...

Come to think of it, Uribe clearing out that section in Houston would be cool too!

Just a thought.

If you're a season ticket holder, you'll get a cool poster with the El Duque, Complete Game, and Heroes ads. If not, then you can't get them because they are not availble for sale or distribution.
