FINALLY!! The list that many of you are seeking is up at the following address:

http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/cws/fan_forum/grinder_rules.jsp

We are writing new ones everyday and plan on making the list a little cooler so that people can download a kind of poster version of it with some player photos on it. But for now what has been produced is up there.

Enjoy!

Excellent. The Sox should keep count of the # of times that gets downloaded....I'm "borrowing" a copy.

58. Don't throw back a home run ball.

This should be posted prominently at the entrance to each and every outfield seating section.

Hey Two by Four - thanks for all of the great work you're doing for the fans!

I still can't get the El Duque pitch sequence print ad to load at the whitesox.com fan forum. Do you know if that can be updated or PM'd to me? I'm glad they're all up, but the pitch sequence was my favorite one of them all....

7. Grinder ball requires speed, defense, and discipline. And immigration.

The ads said Department of immigration...dint they?

Just great work....what a great campaign...defines the whole organization, it's fans...our philosophy....and nicely contrasts us with the little bears to the north. Thanks for this effort....a book...a poster...having these all over the Cell....all would be awesome.

And I will name my first child (whenever he/she comes along): Grinder.

Turned out to be truer than we ever imagined:

66. There is nothing loveable about losing.

That one is great. Why isn't that one used more often in ads, print, etc?

I think this is one of the ones that really shows what white sox baseball is all about. winning. nothing else. and we arn't happy unless the team wins.

No, actually you're thinking of the Igguchi ad I did for the announcement of the Sox signing him. It wasn't a grinder line. It was a fake Department of Immigration form listing things like all his valuables (Japan Series Rings) and all the people that would oppose his immigration to the US (like the Yankees and Boston). My all time favorite ad from last year that wasn't a grinder line.

#88 is on a banner outside of the Cell, along with a pic of the WS trophy.
It replaced the "crying" banner.

When I saw this one, for some reason it made me break down and cry. Also like everyone said thanks Two by Four for the greatest ad campagin the Sox have ever had. I will remember the ad campagin along with everything else for the rest of my life.

Two By Four, you might not be able to out-roundhouse kick Kenny Williams, but you can make one damn fine ad campaign.
Good Work!

Respect the past, people that are shoeless, and anyone named Joe.

IMHO... this is the best ad campaign ever. Not only that, but our 2005 WS CHAMPS, lived up to what it was selling. I too will get the poster.

That one is a radio spot. It's nice and nostalgic. You can hear it at WhiteSox.com at:

The Grinder Rules are the heart of every White Sox fan.

And Two By Four, I have to tell you this. I work with a Cub fan who readily admits Grinder Rules are awesome.

Thanks again for such a tremendous job and capturing the spirit of the team and their fans.

just an idea, if you plan on making an ad for #66: There is nothing loveable about losing, you could use the picture of where Konerko taged out Derrek Lee at first. Just the look on Lee's face is great. I think somebody is using it as a sig.

According to dictionary.com, LOVABLE is the correct spelling, but LOVEABLE is also accepted.

for the record, my usual rant about the Cubs always starts with that "grinder rule."

this is by far one of the coolest Grinder Rules ads I've seen:

This is awesome, but I noticed one that was missing from the list:

(this is from memory, most likely not word-for-word): "Always be on time for the National Anthem, no matter what nation you're from."

You're right it is #18, NEVER be late for the National Anthem. No matter what nation you're from.

MLB must have missed it when they posted this. We will add it when the fancier version goes up soon. Plus we are adding a bunch of new ones to the list. Good catch.
