The Boston Red Sox will keep trying to trade slugger Manny Ramirez even though talks with the Baltimore Orioles appear to have stalled.

Ramirez, the only World Series MVP in franchise history, has never been comfortable in Boston since signing an eight-year, $160-million contract five years ago. He has asked several times for a trade, and the team said it would try to find a deal it likes this winter.

Here's a deal that both teams will like; Manny Ramirez and Bronson Arroyo for Garrett Anderson and Ervin Santana. Make it happen!

Yawn.

While we're on the subject of overblown, overhyped media sensationalism, what's the latest on T.O. and the Eagles?

He was recently quoted saying, "I like that Rex Grossman guy and Lovie Smith seems like a great coach."

I was just wondering the same thing ! I'm waiting breathlessly to see if Stuart Scott (BIG UPS !!) gets to that after his segments on how the Yankees can get back on track, & how Barry Bonds is doing. Oh, and what Michele Wie had for breakfast today. BOO YAAHH !!!!

I see him ending up on the west coast. Especially with the Padres if they lost out on Jose Lima and are in need of a starter.

Why do I sense with Manny whining about wanting to be traded so much that when Boston does finally trade him he will invoke his no-trade clause?

Always tease tease tease
Siempre - coqueteando y engañando
You're happy when I'm on my knees
Me arrodilla y estás feliz
One day is fine, next is black
Un día bien el otro negro
So if you want me off your back
Al rededar en tu espalda
Well come on and let me know
Me tienes que decir
Should I Stay or should I go?
¿Me debo ir o quedarme?

Thanks for the translations? lol

Outfielder Jason Michaels is the Phillies' only arbitration-eligible player left unsigned. His name has again surfaced in trade rumors, most recently packaged with rightfielder Bobby Abreu and righthander Gavin Floyd for Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez and righthanded starter Matt Clement.

I think that there are 40 million reasons for him to approve a trade.

Well, the Phillies just resigned Michaels to a $1.4M 1-yr deal. I believe he can still be traded since he wasn't an FA tho, so this wouldn't impact any potential trade other than providing cost certainty to the team acquiring him.

Isn't "losing out" on Jose Lima actually a good thing?

Ramirez, the only World Series MVP in franchise history. . .

Ok, when did they start naming WS MVPs? As far as I can tell, it was in the mid '50s. How many WS titles has Boston won since then? duh, of course he's their only WS MVP. This guys acts like that makes him even more special.

Bill Buckner was soo snubbed in the '86 World Series. However he would have been the Mets' MVP:cool:

I wish someone would move him, even it requires a team of guys to physically pick him up and drop him off somewhere outside of Boston so we can stop hearing about this for the 8 millionth time.
