My dad got season tickets during the playoffs last season and I was wondering if anyone knows what the view is like from the 500 level, a little towards first but close to home plate, 8th row? (I dont remember what section.) Just curious as to the what the view is gonna be like for 81 baseball games.

You will have a great view of all the action on the field, and the fireworks!!

the seats are cool, because it is like watching the game from an angle you don't get to see on TV. You are above the action, and you can see how players read the ball, the defensive shifts certain players get, etc. etc...

also- you can always go down to the bullpen sports bar, if you want.

I used to sit in the same general area you're referring to during my short stay in Chicago...you have a great view of the entire field, IMO.

Upper deck seats really get a bad rep. Theres hardly a bad seat in the house. It might be hard tracking fly balls at first, but you will get a whole view of the field.

I always sit in the upper deck and love the view. The key to tracking flyballs is to glance down at where the fielders are positioning themselves as the ball is in the air. Once I learned that, I think flyballs are actually easier to track from the upper deck.

Lots of folks around here dislike the UD, but I sat up there right behind home plate for a few years with my uncle, and I really liked it. The seats you have should be excellent.

Now of course vending in the UD is a whole 'nother story.....

This is my view from game 2 of the ALCS in row 17 i think (along third base side, so opposite side):

This is the view from row 1, so I guess split the difference and it should be somewhere around there?:
