It wouldn't surprise me if he showed up just to hang out.

Plus the big news is obviously the championship, next year we will move on (to a point) and focus on that season, so I think it'd be cool to schedule some of the players who will be elsewhere, even if just for a Q and A/seminar.

I think it would be cool to have guys like Blum and even Frank Thomas so we can give him a proper sendoff. Although, I guess in his eyes that was proabably the parade. It would be nice to have everyone on the same stage together on opening night.

Yeah, that would be cool too. I was just implying that Aaron seems to have a good time at Sox Fest "after hours".

LOL yeah. Anyone go to SF two years ago? Loaiza was waaaaaaasted. Crede was too but I didn't know till he was in the elevator with us and just leaned his whole face/body on the elevator buttons. LOL

I was at that SoxFest. I knew Crede was wasted when I saw his eyes look appear droopy and him leaning on his wife to hold himself up on his bar stool at 11p! I believe that was also the year that Kelly Wunsch gave me his glass of Guinness to finish, since he was going up to his room and hadn't finished his beer yet! :gulp:

Would be kind of funny to be bumping around the Atrium Bar and bump into ARo. Had a few Miller Lites w/ that guy last year. Heck maybe Crede will have to get escorted out by his wife again for being too hammered. what great night.

Yeah. I was able to see Esteban before everyone around him started buying him drinks. Two years ago is when I first "ran into" Aaron. He was on his way to the bathroom (the one past the elevators) and started to walk into the women's room. I was turning the corner to go into the women's room. I think he thought he was going to get away with almost going into the women's room undetected until he ran into me. He then said something like this (and was very animated): "Whoa! Didn't mean to go into there. I've been (makes drinking motion) a little bit." It's was a pretty funny encounter.

LOL bathroom encounters all around. Same night Aaron about killed me opening the door to the men's room. By opening I mean THROWING it open in front of me. Slick Willie was out that night too if anyone else remembers. That was the most fun Soxfest for me I think...tons of the guys really hanging out with us. Not too much last year though.

My buddy was urinating w/ Crazy Carl, and had been seeing him at the bar all night and kept yelling "Crazy Carl!" Finally Carl called him out in the bathroom and was like "why you keep calling me crazy all night?"

My buddy caught off guard was like "Umm yeah i don't know i got to go."

That's good stuff, especially your friend's reaction.

My buddy should have maned up... i kept encouraging him to bring a blow up dinosaur to the 'private' autograph session w/ Crazy.

That would have been fun. My dad got Steve Lyons to autograph a pair of boxers after he dropped his drawers.

I think all WSI members should wear nametags or something at Soxfest to find each other hahaha

My dad and I were a couple feet away from him, his wife, Joey Cora and some other people. He didn't seem that drunk when we saw him.

Hah, it must not have been late enough. This was around 3am when we saw him. Funniest part is that he had an autograph signing at 8.30 the next morning. He looked FINE the next day...that guy is a CHAMP :gulp:

Changing the subject but still in keeping with the subject line of this thread, I saw a list of confirmed players for SoxFest today. It looked like about 15 or so current players were on the list. Crede was obviously absent from the list since he's not signed yet.

Oh, and for those who were speculating on DJ not being back next year, you'll be sorry to hear that he's on the list.

JOE...CREDE must be signed! We need at least one of the Atrium Bar's dynamic duo there that weekend to hang out with, since Rowand's gone! :gulp:

Nope. New Policy. You must have SoxFest tickets or a reservation in order to enter the Hyatt that weekend. They are trying to maintain some sort of control.

*edit: But I bet there is a slim chance that I may have just started another rumor. I may have to tune into the score and see if anyone calls about this!

IIRC, Crede's not FA eligible for another 3 years...
