It's amazing that the Red Sox haven't been able to get a real first baseman the past few years. In that park, that's a must have 'power' position and they simply haven't been able to get it filled.

At this point, they would be better off sticking Ortiz there and finding another DH. There's no way he's any worse than Millar has been.

He could be a good one.

Snow is probably a stopgap solution for Boston along with Youkalis. They will probably look to upgrade at 1B around the trade deadline. If the Royals are out of it by then, it wouldn't surprise me if Boston pursued Mike Sweeney. Dmitri Young could be another possibility for them to pursue.

Frank could hit a lot of home runs playing in Fenway Park.

Why even sign Snow? Would he really help, instead of playing Lowell & Youkilis?

Snow is a great first baseman with a career .996 fielding percentage. He hit .275 last year and well over .300 the year before. Good signing for the Red Sox IMO.
