Per mlb.com interview with Overpaid....

"I just believe this has to be our year," Beltran said via telephone from Puerto Rico. "If we stay healthy and we find a way to play the game right, I don't see why we can't win the division."

Not to mention their now talking about trading Heilman, who would most likely be a better starter than Glavine Trachsel and even Zambrano.

Scott Kazmir would be looking pretty good right about now, eh?

The Mets

Talk about a bad trade and this inevitably comes up in the conversation. The one good thing the Rays have accomplished is getting him.

While they're trying to trade young talent for washed up former stars, why not bring back Mo Vaughn, Albert Belle, Kevin Appier, Charles Nagy, and Jeff Brantley?

While we're making fun of the Mets, they actually do have a shot at that division. They have power now, and Willie Randolph is a very good manager, but Carlos has to walk the walk, .266/.330/.414 and 78 RBI ain't gonna cut it.

No doubt. There are bridge clubs younger than three of those guys.

"Um Excuse me. That is our market sir. In fact, We are currently closing in on signing Rickey Henderson to a 5 year 30 million dollar deal. We believe Ricky is the speedy lead-off hitter we have been missing for years. Also, His way of referring to himself in the first person will make him such a personable star in our organization for years to come."

I agree.

The Phils don't look like they improved much from last season.
The Nats have had a horrible offseason.
The Marlins......'nuff said.

I think the Mets just might win the division too.......but the Braves always seem to think otherwise.

Why would anyone dare pick against the Braves. It's like picking against the sun rising in the morning.

Sounds to me like a team that might be willing to give up say Heilman & Milledge for Contreras........

Carlos, i know you are trying to be the Puerto Rican Willie Mays and all, but please spare us the PR move and you and your team can get their subsequent ass-whippin at the hands of the Baby Braves.

I ask myself that same exact question at the end of every season. The last 3 years I have guaranteed that they come in second or third.

With that said I think that Aaron Rowand will lead the Phillies in all statistics and an NL East.

The Mullett League.

Maybe as a goofy marketing stunt, Brooks Boyer can invite Jeff Brantley to the USCF Mullet Night, and SCALP the bastard!

With their pitching staff, a +.500 season would be great.
