Add Byrnes to the list Chad Bradford is already on. The list entitled, "Guys Who Would've Made A Lot of Sense for the White Sox".

The list of guys who are overrated by fans but not by MLB GMs?
Byrnes played for 3 teams last year and posted a .226 AVE, .294 OBP, and .371 SLG. He's pretty much a corner OF.
Bradford pitched only 23.1 innings last year, because of health problems and a general inability to pitch even one full inning per appearance.
In light of these serious shortcomings, neither player was able to get more than a 1-year deal.

Yes, the Sox do need to add some vendors in the stands to support the increased attendance.

Should make Buerhle happy that he won't have to see Byrnes this season.

The same reason some people think Rowand's a HOF player. He runs into walls alot.

Don't forget the full-extension dives due to taking bad routes, his shaggy hair and his skateboard. These are things you look for in a player.

I stopped taking him seriously after he decided to shove Jason Varitek rather than touch home plate.

Yeah, seriously. Why do people think Eric Byrnes is good? I just don't understand. This must be like the 4th time I've had to post to remind people that the guy flat out sucks.

I still hate Byrnes for his extra-inning sprint onto the field seconds before the Sox were about to pitch the ball.

Did you bother to read what you wrote before blasting away? Show me the stats of a player who went from the AL to the NL and back to the AL in the same season, that were good. You can't.
If you bothered to look a year back, 2004: .283 AVG, .347 OBP, 20 HR, 73 RBIs, 17 SB/1 CS.
He's worth a try is all I'm saying. The perfect replacement for Aaron Rowand, on and off the field. He's a great guy, teamplayer, hustles all the time, and has 20/20 ability. The right team can take this guy and make him a stud, not a superstar, but a great role player. The A's were the right team but they didn't want to pay him, I guess.

Do you bother to read what I wrote . . . and what everybody else wrote? "The perfect replacement for Aaron Rowand"?!? He's barely an adequate replacement for Timo Perez.
Rowand's replacement is Brian Anderson. Get used to the idea.
