Would be Eddie Guardado.
Maybe the Sox can trade Contreras for Eddie..

This doesn't seem like a very balanced trade. A hot starter for a short reliever straight up? :?:

Guardado is a closer and expects to be paid and is paid as one.......besides does he close games after Jenks and Hermanson ?
The Sox just need a serviceable veteran lefty reliever.

Im hoping Dustin is healthy next season...
I was thinking Guardado would be the set up man for Jenks..

I still think the Sox could get more in return for Contreras (who should stay, BTW).

I heard something interesting on Seattle radio the other day. Guardado is somewhat injury prone and the "expert" on the radio was saying that it is a minor miracle that Guardado can even pitch at all b/c his rotator cuff (I'm pretty sure that was the body part) is a mess and he must be in alot of pain with each pitch.

Contreras for Guardado and Reed.

uh, why?
Guardado has torn his rotator cuff 2 times in the last 2 years. He wants to close and his contract is too high for us to handle, so in short, no.

"The Rookie" is a lefty, maybe the Devil Rays would give us a good deal for him.

Also, Guardado is pitching with a fully torn rotator cuff, he is an accident waiting to hapen.

Let's trade Contreras to Philly for Marte.
A deal that wouldn't benefit Pittsburgh in the least. I'm sure they'll totally do it!:wink:

He hasn't pitched in an MLB game since 2001.
