According to ESPN's list of transactions Alan Embree agreed to terms with the San Diego Padres. :) :) :) :)

As bad as he is, he's still lefthanded.

Pitching lefthanded cures a variety of ills. For example, having no talent.

His fastball has good zip . . . but it's straight as an arrow and he has no control of it. And when that type of fastball is mixed with a loopy hanging breaking ball, it's a very tasty treat for major league hitters.
of course, just watch, he'll rediscover a slider next year and suddenly be a super lefty setup man . . . ahh, but never fear, we have wunsch to serve up the other team's lunch ( man that's cheesy, i don't even know what it means, it just ryhmes)

Thank God! I don't remember one good 2001 Embree outing but I am haunted by numerous visions of HR's and game tying/go ahead runs. He is one that I'm glad to see go.

I actually remember a couple good outings from Embree. But the bad seems to always stick out in peoples minds. Foulke comes to mind.
