Why not sign W.Miller,let him heal this year and he can be insurance if the Count and Garlend both try the FA market next year.

I could be wrong but I think he underwent surgery for that frayed rotator late this year.

Wade Miller may be a cheap and interesting flyer, but insurance he isn't. He can't guarantee anything with his health.
He spent his entire career with Houston, pitching pretty well for them, and then right after his injuries in 2004, Houston cut him loose. That's a good sign he has serious problems. He didn't get very far last year either.
If we want an insurance policy, keep Garland and take the draft choices (or choice; you never know if he'll be class a or b; Graff was an A and Milwood a B--only in MLB). That's a high premium to pay, but it may be worth it.
