Although the White Sox did not confirm the moves Tuesday night, a source close to the situation indicated Harris would be non-tendered, along with outfielder Timo Perez and Minor League hurler Felix Diaz. The Associated Press confirmed that particular list after midnight, as well as Minor League pitcher Jon Adkins also being non-tendered.

see, there's no way to make the thread headline teal...

mweflen, I'm rolling at the title.

What is the reasoning for releasing Felix Diaz? To open up room on the 40-man roster? Has he fallen this far? He couldn't have competed for a bullpen spot in ST?

Pssh, I'll appreciate him.

Thanks Jon Adkins for your solid year in 2004. And um, thanks for putting an end to that game against the Twins that wouldn't end. Even if the rest of our bullpen was giving it their all to give a chance for our team to win....it was nice to see you put an end to it..?

I got your autograph at soxfest, so go find another team and kick butt!

I agree, thanks Jon for some solid outings in 2004 when our bullpen was so incredibly unreliable you couldn't really trust anyone. So thanks Jon for some great outings. Also, thanks for plunking a Blue Jay in early August to send a message when all our batters were getting thrown at. I liked you Jon, best wishes on another team.

A lot of people don't realize how hard most ballplayers are working. A few ballplayers do really live it up, but most really, really are busting their butts to stay in great physical shape and be in peak form for the entire season. Most guys take about two weeks off after the season ends, catch up with the family and their lives and then go back into training. By the time spring training comes along, especially if you are a marginal player, you need to be in great form, you may only get a few chances to impress a manager. And you never know who might be seeing you for the only time. One rival GM who is interested in you could be all that is between you and having no job.

I was lucky, I had a different career to go back to and I had the education. Then again, I always knew I'd never make it as a major leaguer. Jon Adkins has probably dedicated 10 years to get where he is now. If he just wasn't good enough, well, we can always appreciate the effort.

Thank you for going away and removing any and all temptation for Ozzie to use you.

Ditto for Marte and Vizcaino.

CD, I appreciate talent skill and success as much as the next fan, perhaps more. But I really appreciate the effort as well. Minor league baseball is a hard life and only one in fifty guys who gets into the minors plays in the majors, ever.

Yeah, he pitched in 5 games for a total of 8.1 innings giving up 13 hits, 4 walks, 8 runs, with 1 strike out bringing his 2005 ERA to 8.64.

Some of you guys are ruthless. Do you know how hard it is to even make it to the big leagues at all?..........I don't either, but I can only imagine how hard it is.

He had an ok year in '04, not great but serviceable.

Good luck in the future, Jon.

The one great memory (maybe the only one) I have of Adkins was somewhere around the middle of 2004 against the Red Sox when he came in late and struck out either Manny or Ortiz to end an inning. I wish I could remember the game...I am pretty sure it was at Fenway.

I'm not sure if this was at WSI or at the mlb.com forums, but another poster once said that his sister was once trying to get an autograph at the Sox bullpen and Adkins came out and asked for her phone number.

Depends on if he could find the "strike zone" on date night.
