The wife has already designated my Soxfest tix and hotel stay as my X-mas gift. That's a pretty solid Sox gift from Mrs Wsoxmick! :D:

I asked for the Sox Pride DVD, although I'm not that hopeful of getting it under the tree as my mom already told me that she looked around and even one crazy employee claimed that the only place to find it is eBay. :?: I know what I'll be ordering from whitesox.com with money that I hopefully get.

I already have both DVDs and all of the keepsake commemorative books, as well as the Buehrle Wheaties box, numerous pennants, t-shirts, caps and the Santa cap. I haven't actually asked anyone for it yet, but I guess I'd put the White Sox World Champions Monopoly set and the Uno cards on my list, and if I don't get them I'll treat myself to them after the holidays! :D:

I just got home a little while ago doing some X-mas shopping and Walmart and Circuit City had tons of Sox Pride DVD's.

The World Series DVD is getting a little scarce on the shelves however.

Both Sox dvd's, along with an expensive retro jersey, hopefully of the softball-my childhood in the late 70s variety.

That's not good. :(:

I ordered that DVD and the paperweight shown in my signature from MLB.com. They were literally at the post office just two days ago but I typed in my parents address incorrectly (yes, I'm an idiot) when I ordered it so they think it got sent back.

The place that my mom heard the silly eBay comment from was the "old" supercenter Wal-Mart on Riverside Blvd, and that was weeks ago, so it's possible that they could have it by now. I doubt she checked Best Buy, as the place is usually chaotic at this time of the year!

I (unfortunately) used to work there and have friends that still do. Not the first place I'd go to for advice on where to find new DVDs.

I'll be checking Best Buy, Circuit City, Borders, Barnes and Noble and Media Play tomorrow.

We have some friends who do custom picture framing. They took the Buehrle Wheaties box, flattened it out so you can see the front and the back, and put it in an oak frame for me.

And it isn't even Christmas yet!

[TemporaryThreadHijack]This is just slightly off-topic, but when I saw in this thread that some Chicago-area Borders had the Sox Pride DVD, I went and got all optimistic and charged out to the one near me. Not only did they not have that DVD, they didn't even have the World Series DVD, although they did have the 2004 and 2003 WS DVDs...and a DVD of This Old Cub.

True, I already have the WS DVD, but it's the principle of the thing!

Thanks for the vent. /TemporaryThreadHijack]

I asked for a Pierzynski World Series jersey but I don't think I am going to get that one. However, I did happen to come across an email to my dad saying that the "WORLD CHAMPION WHITE SOX BAT" that he ordered had just been shipped and would arrive in time for Christmas. Hehe.

SWEET! AND OOOH, I HATE YOU!

Actually, this is one of the rare occasions that I really hate living somewhere where the weather is nice all the time! I have no reason to buy this. But since we're doing the 60-degree temp thing lately (brrrr!), I have at least been able to wear my more-than-20-years-old Sox Starter jacket lately.

So I have THAT going for me!

Daver, did you order it from MLB.com? I ordered a replica road Paul Konerko custom jersey with the patch, and they said 7-10 days out of the warehouse and another 3-8 days for shipping. I don't see why an authentic--i.e., more expensive--one should take longer. Seems weird.

1. White Sox Monopoly Game

I know it sounds stupid but thats my #1 gift too. About two years ago I was at a gift shop downtown and saw a Flubs Monopoly set. I asked the store owner if he had any Sox-opoly sets. He turns to me, straight-faced, and says "You mean WHITE Sox-opoly? No, I don't think they make those. No one would buy them."

Not a hint of sarcasm, nothing. Since that day I've waited for a Sox set to come just to feel vindicated. Guess all we had to do was win a World Series:gulp: .

I wonder if anyone is buying those Flubs-opoly sets anymore:rolling:

Slightly off-topic, but nowhere else to put it and not worth starting a thread over:

But Semi-happy Me! I was just out aimlessly wandering around in a strip mall and I spotted a kid about 12 or 13 totally decked out in Sox stuff--Jersey open so you could see the WS T-shirt, plus Sox cap. Of course, I also had my WS T-shirt on, so we chatted a bit and talked about how great next season was going to be. (Kid's here from Chicago for the holidays.)

Then I strolled into Barnes and Noble...and they had the Tribune's "Believe It!" book! One copy.

So I figured I might as well push my luck, so I went to BestBuy looking for the Sox Pride DVD. Nope.

But at least I got the book! Nice!
