I don't want to make one, I just want to say that these are getting out of control. Maybe if we put all of them in here it will be easier. Probably no one will do this. Bastards.

Damn good idea, but I doubt the people who post those ideas will bother to look here before they actual type their nonsensical proposals.

Allright, you want insane? I'll give you insane.

Garland, Uribe, and Ryan Sweeney for Derek Jeter and half Jeter's salary for the duration of the contract. It's probably revenue neutral for both teams, it gives the Yankees an excellent defensive shortstop to go with all those big boppers they have, and they can have the inside track on signing Garland to a 4 year extension. They also get younger and have a high-potential outfielder. We take a bit of a hit defensively but not too bad, and we have our #2 hitter.

You asked for it. Also, please ignore the fact that Jeter would never waive his no-trade and that there would be riots in the NY streets.

You would give all that up for a number 2 hitter? Especially when we have the best #2 hitter in the league already. Unfortunately, he'll be hitting 6th this year.

I know that's what Ozzie wants, but was it confirmed that Gooch got dropped to 6th?

Nothing is confirmed except that's what Guillen said he wanted to do it for Iguchi. Not sure that Anderson has the bat control or the maturity to hit second and I KNOW Uribe can't do it.

Meh. I'd rather see what happens with Uribe in the 2 spot and if it doesn't work he can be moved. I really don't want to see the Sox pull a Corey Patterson and mess Anderson's head up by giving him jobs that he's not capable of handling yet.

Ross Gload and Arnie Munoz
for
Ichiro Suzuki and half of what he is owed and maybe a top prospect

That's insane. I wouldn't take Jeter for Uribe straight up.

................... Teal...... Po....lice?

Juan Uribe, "26" years old
Derek Jeter, 31 years old

Uribe: .262 BA, .305 OBP, 2138 AB, 561 H, 408 K, 125 BB, 32 SB, 21 CS, 63 HR, 280 RBI
Jeter: .314 BA, .386 OBP, 6167 AB, 1936 H, 1089 K, 636 BB, 215 SB, 57 CS, 169 HR, 763 RBI

Uribe: 71 E, 598 G, 2838 Total Chances, .975 fielding %, 0.12 E/G, 0.03 E/TC
Jeter: 160 E, 1520 G, 6372 Total Chances, .975 fielding %, 0.11 E/G, 0.03 E/TC

Defense is amazingily similar. Offense.... Uribe is getting a little better but the guy is HORRIBLE when it comes to a clutch at-bat. He can not work a count when runner's are on base (and judging by his OBP, he can't work a count when bases are empty).

In conclusion, Jeter >>>> Uribe.

So you did. And you also said "and half Jeter's salary", which makes Jeter look a little more attractive compared to Uribe...but I still would rather have Uribe. Jeter has to be the most overrated player in the game.

Marte, Vizcaino, Shingo, are all gone from the 2005 roster.... and if Jon Garland is finished pitching for the Sox (seems to be the word) then how about getting some bullpen arms for him???

Jon Garland to the Angels for Scot Shields + Prospect(s)

Jon Garland to the Astros/Angels/Orioles for 3 pitching prospects and with JG's salary, sign Tavaras or Urbina (gasp!).... If Julian Tavaras wasn't asking for 4 years and Urbina wasn't in jail, I'd say go for it.

How about a 3-way deal that sends Garland to team A, team A then moves some guys to Toronto and the Sox net Miguel Batista + prospects.

Jon Garland + $$$ to Seattle for Julio Mateo and Rafael Soriano.

So you did. And you also said "and half Jeter's salary", which makes Jeter look a little more attractive compared to Uribe...but I still would rather have Uribe. Jeter has to be the most overrated player in the game.

Jeter's numbers are that far off from Tejada's, and he has less RBI chances in that he's a lead off man. The fantasy ranking I looked at actually had Jeter ranked above of Tejada

Jeter 05: .309 AVG | 19 HR | 70 RBI | 122 Runs | 77 Walks (.389 On Base)
Tejada 05: .304 AVG | 26 HR | 98 RBI | 89 Runs | 40 Walks (.349 On Base)

I don't like taking that much credence in stats, with things like runs and RBIs being dependent on your teammates (being on base and getting you in), but he does get on base. I think Jeter is a little overrated defensively (I mean, come on, you move ARod when he's better than Jeter? I suppose they looked at it as losing less defensively with ARod at 3rd as compared to Jeter at 3rd and ARod at SS).

Good point. Thus we should trade Sweaty Freddy, Judy Garland, and OOribe for A-Rod and cash... then trade Contreras, Vazquez and Crede for Tejada. Noting pitchers used to go on 2 days rest in the dead ball era of the early 1900s the rest of the staff would be:

Buehrle
McCarthy
Broadway
Buehrle
McCarthy

with a lineup of:
Podsednik
Iguchi
Tejada
Arod
Konerko
Thome
Dye
AJ
Anderson
