View Full Version : How Many Candles On Contreras' Cake?

It appeared again in today's Trib. Everytime Contreras is mentioned, it is noted that he is "reportedly" or "officially" listed as 34 years-of-age. What do you think his "real" age is?
Note: While this is mostly meant to be an entertaining sort of poll, it does have repercussions concerning length of contract offered.

I think he's closer to 40, but who knows? He looks really old sometimes, but he has been through some tough stuff in his life, things that probably aged him a lot.
I was thinking about the extension the Sox want to give to Jose and all I could think of was how old he really is.

Crawdad beat me to it. I was going to say "Two. A '5' and a '0.'"

I can't tell for sure, but Minnie Minoso says he and El Duque were the toughest pitchers he faced while he was growing up in Cuba!

switch it around and make it say 05, as in the year he broke through and helped lead the sox to a title.
