I really like this trade from the Sox perspective, but it's a pretty good deal for the D'backs, too. Their bullpen stinks and they get a big time prospect with plenty of speed and power, who I'm guessing will start manning center for them at some point this year.

I like this one:This is my favorite part:
The Chicago White Sox already had one of the best starting rotations in baseball, but Javier Vazquez's desire to be traded eastward in order to be closer to his family ultimately landed him with the defending World Series champions.:bandance::bandance::bandance:

Probably basing that on his sweet-ass save in Game 3. I can see him throwing out of the bullpen next year...

My thought is that they are fans of other teams hoping that he will be traded. Of course, that won't be happening.

I'd like to ship off Vazquez and re-sign Garland, but I know JG is going to command a lot of money. Young pitchers coming off a year like his, and having just won the World Series, and NEVER having been hurt (from what I remember) can pretty much write their own ticket. Hey, maybe he'd pull a Konerko?
It seems like we're so good that I don't even know what we need right now. What a problem!

Only a crackpot who never watched the White Sox in 2005 and the postseason would say Buehrle.

It's probably just somebody being stupid.

I think the better question would have been "which pitcher should be traded for miguel tejada" anyway.

I see something else happening with the Vasquez trade. It seems a bit weird that we pick up another starter when we have McCarthy waiting in the helm.

Mark Buehrle has the worst arm in the starting rotation, he should be removed, it's only a matter of time before he fails. Kerry Wood struck out 20 people during a game back in 1998, he is the best pitcher in baseball.

Buehrle has said that he'd be willing to work in the bullpen to throw to a few batters on the days when he's already throwing on the side. Hmmmm.

well, some people voted buehrle out of the rotation... um....

:dtroll:

And almost 3 times as many voted Garcia out of the rotation. :o:

Honestly, it should come down to Garland, McCarthy or Vazquez with McCarthy garnering 95% of the vote at present and Vazquues picking up MOST of the other 5% simply because he wasn't on the team last year.

Some people just don't get it...

Didn't Buehrle say that save in game 3 was bigger than any other victory he has? :o:

The only reason anyone might vote for Buehrle is that because he will pitch in the WBC and put up a career high in innings pitched, his arm may be tired. Garcia's team, Venezuela, will probably not last as long as the USA so Buehrle will probably do more pitching in March than Garcia.

This WBC thing is really overblown.
